Looking at his Liverpool signings, I don't think they are too bad at all really. The ones I'd say were bad for the money were Adam and Coates.

1 Andy Carroll, (22 when he signed on 31 Jan 11): £35m, 49 total appearances, 10 goals
2 Luis Suárez (24 on 31/1/11): £22.7m, 46, 17
3 Jordan Henderson (20 on 9/6/11): £20m, 41, 1
4 Charlie Adam (25 on 8/7/11): £8.5m, 35, 2
5 Stewart Downing (26 on 9/7/11): £20m, 39, 2
6 Doni (31 on 15/7/11): free, 2, 0
7 José Enrique (25 on 12/8/11): £7m, 39, 0
8 Sebastián Coates (20 on 30/8/11): £7m, 10, 1
9 Craig Bellamy (32 on 31/8/11): free, 32, 9
10 Jordan Ibe (16 on 12/12/11): £500k, 0, 0
11 Danny Ward (18 on 30/1/12): £100k, 0, 0

The ones I'd say were bad for the money were Adam and Coates.  Not sure what his Spurs record is like mind.

Must admit that has me drooling

I recall reading somewhere that Comolli's remit wasn't to be a scout as such, but was to ensure that the targets that had been identified by the management team actually were secured. Effectively his involvement was to ensure that Liverpool and Spuds got the players they wanted.

So yes, I guess he did sign them, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he picked them.

With regard to RDM... Who cares? We could have practically unlimited money. If he's doing badly they'll just sack him off and get someone else in until they have someone who gets the results, like all the other money clubs. It won't be like 'ooh, I'm not sure, if he doesn't do well we will have to pay him off £3 mil, reducing our transfer budget by 95% which we could have spent on the next Westwood'

A Villa Till I Die informant who currently works at Aston Villa has confirmed that business has finally been concluded today in the ongoing bid to acquire the club.

After weeks of lengthy negotiations, a staff member currently working at Villa has confirmed a ‘Chinese businessman’ named Tony Xia who is an ‘avid supporter of the club’ has finally put pen to paper this afternoon to purchase Aston Villa from ex-owner Randy Lerner.

Villa chairman Steve Hollis traveled to China this week to iron out all the finer details of the ongoing acquisition and it is thought sent an email this afternoon to staff members confirming the closure of the deal.

More to follow shortly.

SSN just regurgitate what's found on the internet most of the time. Them actually saying something doesn't mean a lot so I wouldn't take it as gospel If you do you may aswell believe everything on here.

Just now, MessiWillSignForVilla said:

As well as Bale, Modric, Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, Berbatov and Corluka who all did quite well there.

...but on the flip side he was responsible at Tottenham for snapping up such talents as Hutton, Taarabt, Dos Santos, Bentley, Pavlychenko.

In all seriousness I am all for him, he is clearly vastly expeienced. He isn't some chump with a laptop.
