Like ever ever, unless we relocate the club

So in 100 years, Villa will never have approached West Ham's level of revenue. Ever?

"ever" is a big word to be throwing around in football.

I bet people thought Man City would never EVER get that sort of revenue either.

Well they've just bagged themselves a 50,000 capacity stadium for (almost) free and are about to get themselves a new deal payout from the premier league, so sadly I am aware that we won't compete with the likes of West bloody Ham ever again.

But we're in the Midlands, so who cares? Aston Villa, the "Midlands outfit".

Having seen what looks like West Ham's badge change that is going ahead, we -MAY- have got off very lightly here.

LONDON! WE'RE IN LONDON YOU KNOW! TOURISTY LIKE! PLEASE DON'T THINK WE'RE NOT FROM LONDON!

like i said before if you think these clubs are aiming all these marketing changes at the season ticket holders and the life long fans then you're kidding yourself, their badge, our badge, they're aimed at chinese and yank kids

West ham have been relegated a few times, times change who knows where we stand in 10-15 years.Who would have predicted in 10 years we have gone from challenging to champions league to bottom of the league?

Absolutely no one. Because it hasn't happened like that :)

Though if you slightly change the question, the point is a good one -  exactly 10 years ago we were looking like going down under O'leary, eventually just escaping and finishing 16th. So in April 2006, 10 years ago, plenty of people were predicting that we'd go down eventually, if not that season, then the next one. And obviously 10 years later, it's happened.

What actually happened in between of course, was the change of ownership, followed by 5 years of top half (and sometimes Europe) places 11th, 6th, 6th, 6th, then starting to go wrong and 9th place followed by years of further crap.

But you're right, teams go up and down all the time, fortunes change (and are made and lost). That's sport.

The 'London Hammers' may have an exclusive home in the suburbs of our capital, but they have a fair bit of competition for fans in that there place so I don't buy that they will suddenly whizz off into the distance leaving Villa behind. It's a matter of time until we sort ourselves out and get back in the prem and it will be about that time that those filthy porn peddlars will be signing the club over to a Uzbekiustan billionaire crook not giving two figs for the fans or anyone else so long as they get paid. I also have a vision where Karen Brady and David Gold melt into each other becoming one hideous fleshy freak that shags itself like in 'Society'.
