That would be an undersatetement, they have only been up 4 years and now they are now challenging for the champions league and have moved to a 54,000 capacity stadium for which they have sold out the corporate facilities already. It already looks like the 54,000 stadium will be sold out for every game as I believe there is already a waiting list for tickets. It's horrible to watch as it's Gold,Sullivan and Brady at the helm but you have to hand it to them, they know what they are doing. I wish our owner was as good at running a club.

gaffmaster
East London Ham stopped selling their best players a couple of years ago. A simple solution that could have kept us where they are.

Worst case they will get double wages! Even if they do "come for Payet" he will more than likely go for stupid money and be replaced by someone of equal or higher quality. Fact is if we weren't grossly mishandled from the beginning of the Lerner era we would be in and around the top 4 now at the very least. At that point we were right up there, the likes of Tottenham were our equals, Everton slightly below us. We f*cked up major!
Mantis
I don't think it's a given that we'd be in and around the top 4 now were it not for the mismanagement. We could just as easily be middling in mid-table, not that that wouldn't be an improvement on our current position.

Popular Post Rob182
Well they've just bagged themselves a 50,000 capacity stadium for (almost) free and are about to get themselves a new deal payout from the premier league, so sadly I am aware that we won't compete with the likes of West bloody Ham ever again. But we're in the Midlands, so who cares? Aston Villa, the "Midlands outfit". I'm not buying the huge significance of this new Premier League payout that people seem to think is the be all and end all. Do people genuinely believe that from next season onwards, the 3 clubs who get promoted into the league will drop straight back down, because they didn't have the Premier League money? No chance. Look at Man City in their current position. Money doesn't win every season. Teams will come up from the Championship playing good football, teams will find bargain signings, teams will find great, inspiring managers and teams will build the type of team spirit like Leicester have, that money can't buy. Our hope is that we get promoted with one or more of the above. Not to mention, occasionally Premier League teams suffer for complacency, from managers who lose the plot, from players becoming greedy and then lazy and teams can literally just under perform. Don't believe any of this 'we'll never compete with [insert team] ever again' bollocks. Money isn't everything, and fortunes can change in a matter of seasons.
