Last I read was that they didn't want to rush him back and the medical team felt he needed a couple of weeks before playing matches. I'd hope to see him in a friendly before the season starts. True, quite a few games for the reserves on the cards before they risk him in the first team. Cissokho did surprisingly well against Nantes though, so perhaps we shouldn't fret too much, plus we've also got newly found dead ball specialist Joe B. to fall back on. We just need to be patient with him, he's not gonna come straight back and be Roberto Carlos MK2, but over the course of the season he will certainly be an upgrade on Cissokho. IIRC, Downing was injured when we signed him? Risk and reward. A mid table prem team could stand a chance ATM. In six months time, the big boys could be sniffing around.
