In some positive Amavi-related news, it would appear that Liverpool have bid £13m for PSV Eindhoven's Jetro Willems who has tweeted [Wijnaldum] holding up a Liverpool scarf and tweeted that they will "see each other again soon!".  Pretty fair to assume they wouldn't be splashing that on a backup leftback.  That's one major vulture sated.

EDIT!

Know nothing about Jetro Willems aside from how ridiculously epic he is on FIFA career mode!

think he was youngest player to ever play in the Euros in 2012 and had an absolute mare

I assume he has got better with experience though he is not 1st choice left back in a poor Holland squad

Anyone know why he hasn't played a minute of pre season yet?

Last I read was that they didn't want to rush him back and the medical team felt he needed a couple of weeks before playing matches.  I'd hope to see him in a friendly before the season starts.

Can't see him starting at Sheffield Wednesday then, brace yourself for Cissokho....

True, quite a few games for the reserves on the cards before they risk him in the first team. Cissokho did surprisingly well against Nantes though, so perhaps we shouldn't fret too much, plus we've also got newly found dead ball specialist Joe B. to fall back on.

Still, it was good to see him back on the pitch yesterday. He was given a good reception. We just need to be patient with him, he's not gonna come straight back and be Roberto Carlos MK2, but over the course of the season he will certainly be an upgrade on Cissokho.

We've probably not seen him pre season in order to not advertise him to potential buyers!

Maybe some kind of wig could be used against Sheff Wed!

Or change Bacuna's name to Amavi.  Then potential buyers will either buy him anyway as they think he is amavi or watch him,  realise he is shite and then think **** that Amavi bloke not going anywhere hear him he is crap

Far too good for the championship. I'm amazed at the lack of interest even after the injury.

Keeping hold of him would be our best bit of buisiness, directly or indirectly.

POTS contender if he stays fit methinks...

No shit.

IIRC, Downing was injured when we signed him?

Risk and reward. A mid table prem team could stand a chance ATM. In six months time, the big boys could be sniffing around.

Not that I'm bothered, he's our best player.
