This is a genuine question, it shouldn't be, but it is; do you think he'll make it to the end of the season?

Oh and Roy first managed a side four years before our manager was born, his first job as a manager was in 1976.

Assuming he lives that long, I think they will give him the remainder of the season. They really should realise by now that these constant managerial changes become counter-productive.

Struggling to call this one, given the nature and context of the appointment it can only be either a total success or a total failure, I’d think there’s little planning beyond this season and whichever way it goes I’d be surprised if Hodgson is still Manager come the start of next season.

Watford havent kept a top flight clean sheet since February 2020, its one of Hodgson main strengths.

They have enough in attack to squeeze out a victory though Dennis has gone off the boil

The problem is they never give a manager long enough to actually get his tactics across to the players, and for them to actually get used to implementing those tactics.

They probably just expect to get a "new manager bounce" every few months and that will keep them up.

Roy Hodgson is a very basic manager.

He won't need long to put his ideas across.

Been here before. Knows exactly what it takes. Very sensible appointment.

What’s the record for number of managers sacked in a PL season by a single club? Have they already broken it? Surely they will if they get rid of Hodgson….

It appears that 3 is the most in a season, remarkably it’s happened 8 times in PL history including us in 15/16

https://www.90min.com/posts/6310534-8-premier-league-clubs-who-have-had-3-managers-or-more-in-a-season

found out in Italy in 15/16 Palermo had NINE managerial changes involving 7 managers. They sacked and rehired 2 different managers throughout that season!

Since the 90 min article, Watford had 4 in 19/20

Gracia, Sanchez-Flores, Pearson and Mullins (temp)

I like Woy, but why did he take the job? Is he having his house renovated and needed to get out for a few weeks? Has he fallen out with his wife?!

He was never going to be long term.

Most clubs try to get better managers in but it seems Watford are doing the opposite. Not sure what the issue was with the first guy they had this season, he was doing okay.

Roy is outdated, Palace had decent players and they were dreadful to watch.

Are we going to give Woy his first win as Watford manager?

Nothing would surprise me with us right now.

Can't buy a win? Can't score? Manager about to be sacked?
