Players you've completely forgotten about

He's basically missed two seasons with injury, still only 22 so there is still time for him to realise his potential.   Wouldn't surprise me to see Milan sell him this summer if a big offer comes in given the way they have decided to basically stop competing at the top level because they can't afford to keep up with the big English and Spanish clubs.

It's not just injuries either. He had a real hot start in 12/13 and was really, really awful for the remainder of the season. Been injured/shit since. A club would be absolutely mental to pay any kind of money for him IMO.

NOPE!

He actually got some pretty bad injuries, and because Milan were falling in the league (when the objective was to stay in the CL), Allegri/Seedorf (and too a lesser extent) Inzaghi have rushed him back, where he's picked up further injuries.

He actually played well for about 4/5 games this season, in between injuries but these past 2 years have been hard on him.

He's still a good young player, but probably not what was expected of him 2/3 years ago.  If he moves this summer, which might do him some good, then he'll have a buy-back price for Milan.

This thread seems to be 50% players who currently play and 50% random retired footballers.

In that case i present the following: Back when footballers looked like blokes who would chin you if you spilt their pint or looked at their missus!

Hugo Viana.

Think Newcastle signed him for massive money, might've been a record for an under 20 player at the time but he never really did much there and went to a few Spanish and Portuguese clubs after.

He's probably only about 31 now.

Alberto Aquilani.  Liverpool took a bath to the tune of £20m on him but apparently he's been in the first team at Fiorentina for a couple of seasons.  Now 30, seems he is off to ply his trade in America for the next couple of years.  Lets hope his new club have good medical insurance.

Pazzini's another one, scored a hattrick first game at Wembley for Italy under 21s and was the next big thing at Fiorentina but now warms the bench at Meelan and gets a link or two to premier league clubs now and again. Gilardino was another excellent goalscorer but faded out and I wouldn't have a clue which club he's at now.
