Seedorf have come in and made some changes that has not worked out at all, especially dropping Schaar is annoying the supporters, but they also wan't Gil back in the team apparently. Since I've only read the one forum it is a small selection, but Seedorf is 0 from 6 so at least that part they are right on.

skarroki
If he came back and wanted to work hard and get a place in the side, would you keep him or tell him he's finished here and to look for a permanent switch?

Michael118
Quote Not-so-super Depor on worst run in Primera Division history The draw against Las Palmas on the weekend left Clarence Seedorf's side on 20 points, worse off than 2012/13 and with one foot in Segunda With just 9 games remaining of the 2017/18 season and after Levante's resurgence under Paco Lopez it seems only a miracle will keep Deportivo in Primera Division this season. The defensive errors remain, the team is not scoring goals and the club's punt on Clarence Seedorf to turn things around has backfired spectacularly, the Dutchman chalking up the worst start to a coaching takeover at Depor in 50 years. Depor have now gone 3 months without winning a game and on Saturday against Las Palmas, matched their worst ever winless run in the top flight of 14 games without tasting victory. With just 20 points on the board after 29 games, Seedorf's side are worse off at this stage of the season than their previous worse top flight campaign in 2012/13 when they had 23. Before the three points for a win system was introduced, Depor went down in 1964/65 with 15 points but would have accrued 21 by this stage under the current format. Seedorf failing to turn Depor's season around Depor have conceded 60 goals already this season, just one short of the total they shipped in each of the past two seasons when they managed to stay up. Although they have tightened up under Seedorf, it will be a miracle if that total is not breached by a considerable distance this campaign. At the other end, Depor have scored 26 times this season, but have managed only 2 in their last 7 under Seedorf, one of which was an own goal by the other side. Although Seedorf arrived to rescue the situation after the sacking of Cristobal Parralo, the former Netherlands international has got off to the worst start of any Depor boss since 1966, with 3 points from a possible 21. Only Enrique Orizaola in 1966/67 has managed a poorer return. Unsurprisingly, Depor fans are none too enamoured with the current board and called for the resignation of the directorship during the Las Palmas draw and turned on former favourite Lucas Perez, who has failed to find the net since November. https://en.as.com/en/2018/03/19/football/1521465268_259563.html

a m ole
so wins against Leganes, Las Palmas, Malaga and Sociedad. All bottom half sides. Is it the Carles Gil effect or a team of 11 players beating not very good sides? Tip; it’s the latter.

Deportivo against bottom half La Liga teams with Carles Gil featuring for 80 mins or more - 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss (The loss was against Valencia last season). Deportivo against bottom half La Liga teams with Carles Gil featuring for less than 80 mins or not featuring at all - 8 wins, 14 draws, 11 losses. Deportivo have a 29% win record over the last 2 seasons against bottom half La Liga teams. When Gil features for 80 mins or more their win record more than doubles to 60%. Their loss and draw percentages are far more favourable as well. It's only a small sample but it's anything but insignificant.
VillaJ100
You could argue they are playing their shitter midfielder against the scrub teams and the would probably win anyway, and playing their best team against the best teams and they're probably going to lose anyway. No, it literally is insignificant. tell me, was the inclusion of Carles Gil the only difference between those games? How much influence did he have in the goals? Who else was and wasn’t playing for Deportivo, and do they correlate with Gil’s inclusion? Who was playing for the opposition? Theres thousands of mitigating circumstances, opportunity for coincidence all within such a tiny sample size that render your statistics completely irrelevant. It’s Sunday League ‘Played 1 Won 1 100% Record’ stato-bullshit.
