Neil Lennon shows passion, he reminds me of a younger MON , I think it's a perfect fit tbh,

Steve mcclaren will get us safe & develope a good side for the future

Moyes is shot but I think he's enjoying Spain

Any ove the above will be great

It would be insane to gamble this late in the season without a replacement ready to go.

Just like it would be insane to not invest enough in your club when you play in a league which is getting TV revenue going through the roof?

All 3 of them are new in their current jobs, no chance they'll risk it all to take Villa at this point. Edited by Genie

I've no faith in a decent appointment being made considering how badly we have been run over the past 4 seasons.  I just hope whoever we get is a top coach himself or has one on board to get us firing quickly.  I can see this dragging on...

We are a little better since Mcleish. We don;t have the telesales manager Faulkner for a start.

Well time will tell but it's an extremely dumb act to sack a manager just over a week after the close of the transfer window and makes it look a sudden decision which would lead me to believe that we aren't prepared for the situation.  Very hard to have much belief that they will get it right although I hope it's not the case and we have someone good lined up.

Transfers were all the manager was good at. Would've been worse to sack him before the window. At least this way we got Gil

Former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has emerged as the red hot early favourite for the vacant Aston Villa job following the sacking of Paul Lambert.

Sherwood is as short as 8/11 on betfair to fill the empty seat at Villa Park.

USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann is second favourite to fill the boots of Lambert at a best price 4/1.

Next is Brentford boss Mark Warburton at 6/1 along with former Villa favourite Gareth Southgate who is also as short as 6/1 with one bookie.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche, who has done so well getting the Lancashire club promoted and with a fighting chance of staying in the Premiership, is 7/1.

Others being touted by the bookies include Harry Redknapp who recently quit QPR citing a knee problem at 10/1 and Bolton boss Neil Lennon at 12/1.

Former England boss Sven Goran Erikkson has odds of 20/1 and for a long punt former Blues boss Lee Clark is 66/1.
