MakemineVanilla
I like Double Indemity too, I didn't mean it was overrated. I just meant that Alien is 35 years old and when Alien came out Double Indemity was 35 years old. You made a good point; time definitely accelerates as you get older.
JoshVilla
Any films that contain any of the following: Ben Stiller Owen Wilson Adam Sandler and the entire cattleprod horror blood porn genre. eg. Insidious, Annabelle, The Saw collection. Scarface is massively overrated. Its a good film, I like, I'll watch it, but it's no masterpiece. Take out coked up Tony with his one killer line and no one cares about that film. I'm not aware of any Transformers film being overrated, they have all had the critical kicking they have deserved. Was literally just about to post 'anything with Adam Sandler'. I don't mind Ben Stiller so much, and can only really stand Owen Wilson in Starsky and Hutch, but Adam Sandler.......*shudders*

I just find Scarface unbearable. I just can't believe that Pacino could produce one of the most intense performances in cinema history (his stillness is just amazing), in Godfather II, and then go and produce this shouty piece of schlock. Zatman
the older Pacino got the more he became more shouty and aggressive on camera. Godfather 3, Heat are quite good examples
donnie
A man needs to kill replicants who have come to Earth... so he does. The end. It's just too straight forward and not a lot actually happens. There is more to a great film than that ajax. The opening scence for example STILL is one of the greatest and most beautiful in film history. The atmosphere of the film is like no other as is the haunting soundtrack. Considering it was made in the 80's it still remains one of the best films visually of any genre. It's a masterpiece. TBF it took me 2-3 watches before I realised this. Give it another watch. Stevo985 Posted November 24, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted November 24, 2014 Pulp Fiction is one of the best films ever made. Which probably proves your point

Vincent Hanna was supposed to be a massive coke head (not really explored in the movie though) so on that basis he played it perfectly: Edited November 24, 2014 by Dr_Pangloss

kurtsimonw
Inglorious Basterds was probably my favourite Tarantino to be honest.

Jimzk5
I remember watching that deathproof and the other film he did at the same time? With the woman who put a machine gun on her severed leg? And wondering why Tarantino is regarded as master of film making when most of he's work is just very meh.

After he did Inglourious, him and Rodriguez just starting having a bit of a laugh and doing whatever they thought was cool. I think they let the collaborative success of From Dusk Till Dawn go to their heads a bit.
