Paul Lambert

In fairness, they're all Lambert players on that pitch.

Perhaps his strength would have been a Director of Football role somewhere, rather than a tactical manager?

We still await the first Sherwood transfer.

Depends if Lambert actually scouted the players or not though.

Exactly. With the likes of paddy O'Reilly being signed up I doubt it is all doubt to Lambert.

I'm sure that being a good scout in itself isn't a sufficient credential to become a DOF. Not that Lambert's transfer record was as great as is made out anyway. It was actually pretty poor after the first two seasons, this season's business helping to break even. Overall it could've been better but could also have been worse.

We looked like a proper team today. Only saw that a couple of times in 3 years with Lambert

To be fair, we have not seen much with Sherwood. This could be an anomaly.

The Sherwood 'anomaly' has produced more excitement and positively in a couple of weeks than the last couple of years under Lambert.

Although at home, Lambert did put 6 past Sunderland. He wasn't all bad. Just mostly bad.

That was nearly 2 years ago! Great game, but the good games were vastly in the minority.

Paul Lambert did some great signings, he were terrible in managing them though. He'd make a pretty good scout.

Haven't you heard? The signings were all down to scouts and not him.

Apart from the crap ones. They probably were him.

I think that's how it works.

I don't think Sherwood making a fairly decent start to his Villa career is any reflection on Lambert's time with us at all. New Managers often come in and have an instant impact. When Lambert gets a job, look at that teams forums and you'll see fans saying how refreshing it all is and it's nice to have a manager who does this and that as that's what happens at almost every club when they get in a new Manager. It's sustaining it that's often the problem.

And yet it didn't happen when he joined us and replaced one of our worst ever managers.

Comes complete with its very own Paul Lambert as well if you look at the photos.
