rjw63
We looked like a proper team today. Only saw that a couple of times in 3 years with Lambert
Juju
In fairness, they're all Lambert players on that pitch. Perhaps his strength would have been a Director of Football role somewhere, rather than a tactical manager? We still await the first Sherwood transfer. I'm sure that being a good scout in itself isn't a sufficient credential to become a DOF. Not that Lambert's transfer record was as great as is made out anyway. It was actually pretty poor after the first two seasons, this season's business helping to break even. Overall it could've been better but could also have been worse. kurtsimonw
Although at home, Lambert did put 6 past Sunderland. He wasn't all bad. Just mostly bad.
Kiwivillan
As I said in another thread I like the increased passing game with accuracy but with Lambert it was without flair or attacking purpose and his insistence on the 5-3-2 was horrible and doomed to fail
villalad21
Paul Lambert did some great signings, he were terrible in managing them though. He'd make a pretty good scout.

The Sherwood 'anomaly' has produced more excitement and positively in a couple of weeks than the last couple of years under Lambert.

Haven't you heard? The signings were all down to scouts and not him. Apart from the crap ones. They probably were him. I think that's how it works. useless
I don't think Sherwood making a fairly decent start to his Villa career is any reflection on Lambert's time with us at all. New Managers often come in and have an instant impact. When Lambert gets a job, look at that teams forums and you'll see fans saying how refreshing it all is and it's nice to have a manager who does this and that as that's what happens at almost every club when they get in a new Manager. It's sustaining it that's often the problem.
