omariqy
If we buy Lescott we don't need Richardson as he can always play LB if required.
The Fun Factory
He **** me off big time last season on several occasions. West Brom & Arsenal being particularly memorable. I'll be pleased if we don't need to see him again. Clearance off the line v plop at Wembley? No?
AVTuco Posted October 17, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 17, 2015 Bumped from page four.I think he was good today. A calm experienced figure at the back. Should keep his place for now.
VillaChris
Disappointed Amavi has to lose his place though. If he is playing RB for French under 21s though stick him there.

Arj Guy
We've had an awful transfer window if Kieran bloody Richardson is still in the team despite the amount spent

markavfc40
We've had an awful transfer window if Kieran bloody Richardson is still in the team despite the amount spentHe is part of the squad. Given how he performed today his selection was justified. We need players with his experience in the squad and he is no mug as he has played over 250 Prem games and is an ex England International. The lad he replaced in Amavi looks a real good prospect but defensively has looked suspect and has made a number of errors perhaps understandably as he adjusts to the pace of the Prem league. Taking him out of the firing will do him no harm and I am sure he will be a fixture in our side again soon.Plenty of sticks to beat the manager with but this call today isn't one of them. If anything it is one he should be applauded for. It is the nature of the beast though I guess as in almost every thread there is a twist somewhere to stick the knife into the manager when in reality it isn't needed as the results alone take care of that without looking for something that isn't there.
VillanousOne
Amavi makes too many mistakes that costs us, even today he almost gifted them a goal, that's not to say he's not going to be a great left back for us, but again it is pretty dumb to put so much pressure on young shoulders.Sherwood is not transitioning these young foreign players, maybe because he doesn't have that luxury, but throwing them in the deep end and watching them drown is pretty dumb.Playing Richardson was actually a sound tactic and did us no harm what so ever. HanoiVillan
He did play at least one suicidal pass Chelsea should have scored from, I don't know why that's being forgotten. Unfortunately Amavi was also hopeless when he came on.
Arj Guy
Personally I think he is one of the worst players in the league, which is why it baffles me when people talk about us having a good squad.
VillaChris
Time to ditch him again....that 2nd goal. Gets sucked into the middle and gives Barrow or whoever the **** it was a free run down the pitch to cross in. We're desperate for points and his poor play gives them an easy chance to cross. Even at the end he needlessly gave away a corner which pretty much ended the game.Amavi next game please, Richardson isn't good enough for a 38 game season. Dr_Pangloss
If I had to make a worst ever Villa 11, Richardson would be in it, diabolical excuse for a footballer. Edited October 24, 2015 by Dr_Pangloss

Nabby
As bad as he was Sherwood has to react to Monks sub who was troubling every time he had the ball...instead he sits does nothing and we concede coming from a cross where Richardson has been beaten by his man leaving space (where we have no cover due to formation).IMO he has been picked as a **** you to the board for buying Amavi....Id also had that as bad as Cissoko was he is a better LB then Richardson he would have been. Better back up.
Chicken Field
To be fair to Richardson, the second goal was not fully his mistake, he was marking Swansea's winger (Barrow) and no one was supporting him, making it 2v1 in Swansea's favour. Richardson followed Barrow which gave Naughton all the space in the world. Someone should have been supporting him and he made a very very bad choice. HanoiVillan
MOTD made it fairly clear that it was Gana who was at fault for their second goal, leaving Richardson to mark two players who were about twenty-five yards away from each other. He never had much of a chance to be honest.
