  1. I wonder whether the lack of a local derby is contributing to it. I dont really see Wolves as a proper derby game. The Leicester home game probably had a better atmosphere than the wolves game.
  2. Another clean sheet. I think it's just one goal conceded in his four games for Luton. They've got a decent chance of a playoff place too. Jed could probably be useful in championship playoff games......
  3. An assist today for him for MK Don's in league 1, having scored in the week. Will be interesting to see what we do with him next season. Possibly a championship loan or in and around the first team set up.
  4. I cant get my head around, in 2022 Kiev, Ukraine; machine guns being handed out to the public to protect the city. The situation is terrifying and baffling in equal measure. Well no, more terrifying.
  5. Great example of this at the Watford game last week, loads of people around me vocally blaming the referee or the Watford players cheating for the defeat. I was quite loudly saying that this is on Gerrard and Villa. It's being blind to the bad that you follow.
  6. I mean the Russia drive is a part of it but the wholesale market was triple or quadruple what it used to be without this recent influence. The price cap is in a lag to the wholesale market. I think many hoped that this would be a price spike across winter and then it would return to normal. But the 2023, 2024 and 2025 futures are now digging in at double or triple historical norms. The drive isnt Russia, its mainly carbon prices. So ye, if you're bill was £1500 historically it should be £4000-£5000 next year.
  7. It's made the more sad/rediculous when weve just faced Covid globally collectively.
  8. I know right and Palace are now presumably safe with their win last night? Even though we go back above them with a win on Saturday. But you can guarantee this thread would still rumble on for months at various times even if we won on Saturday. This thread is mainly the same people trolling and people biting. We're generally a mid table side. In the world of villa talk us being 10th to 14th is us in a relegation battle and us being 7th to 10th is us on the verge of conquering europe. Everything's extreme nowadays. If we lose to Brighton sack Gerrard etc.
  9. The same odds Cameron Archer is to play for England at the world cup this year.
  10. Hes starting games in league one which is good, it's a decent level.
  11. Got to remember to he is 18. It feels like hes been around ages. Archer is 20 for instance.
  12. Fair play a clean sheet in the championship for Luton. Hopefully he keep the number 1 shirt from now on.
  13. Thought the centre halves were great. Chrisene looks really good, oddly reminded me of Grealish in the way he plays. That drawing in of the challenge before shifting the ball away I think it is. The lad at right back for us had a bit of a mare in the second half. Chuk plays like he is a level above the rest but little end product tonight. Brad Young was busy, glad he got a goal.
  14. I really dont think West Hams squad should be above ours. Perhaps the performances of Rice and Bowen have moved them above this season though. Also some of our players have regressed.
  15. Not sure on the calls for Bailey to start. He looked a million miles away from a premier league player on Saturday.
  16. I wouldnt mind us taking a gamble on Andrew Woodman (I think it is) at Bristol City. 4th top scorer in the championship this season.
  17. Haha. For the season to date, we have won about a third of our games. You're right, if we stop winning completely then we will go down.
  18. I dont think they were necessarily put into bad areas though. Just we either didnt burst into the box late or they slightly evaded the runner.
  19. I agree, he could really do with 90 minutes at villa park in a pressure off game.
  20. I mean looking at it's simply, results have been worse since he signed and that's been against poorer teams too. Hopefully we can collectively turn it around.
  21. I remember when I was younger going to watch the Villa reserves play quite regularly at villa park. And those teams often featured players in and around the first team who needed game time. Why doesnt this happen more now? Is it because you cant field anyone over 23? I'd think the likes of Bailey, Sanson etc could do with 90 minutes of reasonably competitive football.
  22. I mean not beating Watford and Brentford this season is unacceptable. You want an absolute minimum of two wins from those games and probably even three.
  23. No I know, not right now. But if he gets one in two in the championship through to the end of the season. He will be likely very involved with us next season youd have thought.
  24. I thought it was fine. Not sure what you're expecting when the players are second best to inferior opposition?
