  1. I suppose its the same as anything if you dont follow it. My missus cant understand the amount of football I watch and just says it's all the same. I mean shes right to an extent, all the possible goals and outcomes of games have already been done. Nothing new is going to happen in the next match. Probably also like me when I walk in and coronation street is on the tv and it just appears to be the same people with the same problems year after year.
  2. I'm so so shocked. Really sad, at that age too.
  3. I read this on the bbc site last night. I dont think I've ever seen the BBC put anything like this before, in the tone it's written. Thousands die, Ukraine president is killed or flees etc.
  4. Ye I remember we got shifted over to to the Doug Ellis for the first half of the season then basically sat amongst the scaffolding for the rest of the season. Was the season of Luc Nilis goal v Chelsea
  5. Good news for those on the waiting list. Youd imagine therefore that most on it now will be able to have a season ticket in a few years time.
  6. It wont be that soon will it. Are you saying it could start building this year?
  7. Ha, just realised, is this going to be Steer's third game of the season against Chelsea tonight. Cant get away from them.
  8. That 10 minute capitulation v Wolves was so costly. We're 10 points behind them now which seems masses. If we'd held on in that game we'd be 4 points behind, with a game in hand and still to play them. Essentially close to level with them
  9. I mean surely this can be resolved to some extent by a bus service and more frequent trains?
  10. Similarly to how we did for the NHS workers during Covid, our government is stood clapping the bravery of the Ukrainians. Not saying they shouldn't it's just an interesting parallel, standing and applauding from a distance.
  11. Noticed Barry Bannan still scoring and assisting for Sheff Wednesday, now in league 1. Been an odd career with him, played for us 10 years ago, still only 32. Feels like he could have done more than championship with Sheff Weds for most of his career.
  12. Footballs so weird that as a manager you can be hopeless and get sacked from multiple clubs, then just rock up at the next one.
  13. It's funny with Everton, it feels like we should want them to go down because they usually compete with us for league places, but we seem to take so many points off them each season. Our last 6 league results v Brentford and Everton must be night and day.
  14. I wonder whether the lack of a local derby is contributing to it. I dont really see Wolves as a proper derby game. The Leicester home game probably had a better atmosphere than the wolves game.
  15. Another clean sheet. I think it's just one goal conceded in his four games for Luton. They've got a decent chance of a playoff place too. Jed could probably be useful in championship playoff games......
  16. An assist today for him for MK Don's in league 1, having scored in the week. Will be interesting to see what we do with him next season. Possibly a championship loan or in and around the first team set up.
  17. I cant get my head around, in 2022 Kiev, Ukraine; machine guns being handed out to the public to protect the city. The situation is terrifying and baffling in equal measure. Well no, more terrifying.
  18. Great example of this at the Watford game last week, loads of people around me vocally blaming the referee or the Watford players cheating for the defeat. I was quite loudly saying that this is on Gerrard and Villa. It's being blind to the bad that you follow.
  19. I mean the Russia drive is a part of it but the wholesale market was triple or quadruple what it used to be without this recent influence. The price cap is in a lag to the wholesale market. I think many hoped that this would be a price spike across winter and then it would return to normal. But the 2023, 2024 and 2025 futures are now digging in at double or triple historical norms. The drive isnt Russia, its mainly carbon prices. So ye, if you're bill was £1500 historically it should be £4000-£5000 next year.
  20. It's made the more sad/rediculous when weve just faced Covid globally collectively.
  21. I know right and Palace are now presumably safe with their win last night? Even though we go back above them with a win on Saturday. But you can guarantee this thread would still rumble on for months at various times even if we won on Saturday. This thread is mainly the same people trolling and people biting. We're generally a mid table side. In the world of villa talk us being 10th to 14th is us in a relegation battle and us being 7th to 10th is us on the verge of conquering europe. Everything's extreme nowadays. If we lose to Brighton sack Gerrard etc.
  22. The same odds Cameron Archer is to play for England at the world cup this year.
  23. Hes starting games in league one which is good, it's a decent level.
  24. Got to remember to he is 18. It feels like hes been around ages. Archer is 20 for instance.
