  1. Haha. I am too. Not confident necessarily but I dont get the negativity.
  2. I dont think we're away friendly, we're probably somewhere in the middle in that respect. We use to be years ago when we gave the away team the lower north and the lower doug ellis away section. That was rediculous.
  3. I'm guessing that they wont commit to the next phase, to take it from 50k to 55k, until they see where the team is and what attendances are like.
  4. It's a great point, and shows how important his all round game is to them.
  5. Isnt the 13k increase over two phases? So an approx 8k increase on the north stand and then another increase on another stand?
  6. Its crazy that if we hadn't beaten them twice this season, theyd be above us now, very fine margins. I think back to Demarai Gray putting that chance past the post at nil nil at villa park.
  7. I watched the game and know the chance they mean. It wasn't a case of if he passed it they score, it would have just given the chance to another player to shoot. He is a selfish goalscorer like a kevin Philips type player for me. They weren't complaining that he should have passed it when he rifled one in from the edge of the box in the first half. The sky commentary team gave him man of the match and said he was the difference between the two teams. Very positive performance.
  8. I think a lot of the atmosphere of away ends is alcohol driven owing to the set up of an away day for most fans. I.e travelling for hours on trains and coaches to pubs before games. Home fans arent doing that.
  9. It wont be 30%. Theyd get such a bad press. It would be very harsh on long standing STHs.
  10. I think he needs to be involved next season, hes a similar age to Ramsey now. I'd have him coming on in the premier league games and starting cup games.
  11. It's a more balanced team now, a consistently higher standard of player Personally I think we have gone from one extreme to the other. Two years ago we had a top top premier league player and a lot of top championship or lower half and middle premier league standard players. Now we have a very even bunch of middle of the premier league players, but no star. I know some will say Coutinho but hes not ours and he goes missing in games for me far more than Grealish did.
  12. Do players not quickly improve at that age, like Jacob Ramsey. I'd never have the Ramsey of last season banging in goals left right and centre like he is this season.
  13. I think they're decent value, particularly when compared to the increasing cost of other things.
  14. Think I just saw somewhere else that hes now contracted with the club for the next five years.
  15. Any idea how long hes extended for?
  16. He got man of the match again at the weekend. Will be interesting to see what we do with him going forward.
  17. I've told you there what you can expect from Ollie Watkins. A goal every 3 or 4 games, which means him missing more one on ones than scoring them. That's what he is. Want a higher conversion rate, pay more than £30mil for a striker. The bulk of our players are of a similar standard now. We are crying out for one or two top premier league players in my opinion, which might move us on to the next level.
  18. I dont agree with the last bit, I think that if a team playing in the champions league bid for him he would jump at the chance. It would be a weird move for him to us therefore given that we are midtable.
  19. I dont know what people expect him to be. He's a £25-30 mil striker which gets you a goal every 3 games roughly. Good spell he goes 1 goal in 2 for a while, bad spell 1 in every 5 or 6. Harry Kane will get you a goal every game and a half roughly, but he'll cost £125mil. I suppose it's what the owners want to do really, we've now got a load of £15-30mil players, which gets you about 10th in the premier league.
  20. It was pretty poor last night to be honest. Stoke didnt really get out of first gear I felt. They seemed both bigger and older than our lads, the latter probably the case as I know we have lots who could play out on loan.We had plenty of chances, like the first team today but just couldn't finish. Gerrard there again watching on. There should be enough motivation there for those coming through.
  21. The one goal thing is really annoying. I think it's our last 6 or 7 losses have been by one goal, while our wins have been by 2, 3 or 4 goals. Does that tell us that we're close to being a decent side? Im not sure. If we could convert a lot of those narrow defeats into draws we'd be far nearer european spots. No points from Wolves, West Ham and Arsenal this season. Teams that we should really be competing with.
  22. The bulk of Kanes goal return fir England is close range goals, tap ins and penalties. I though he was decent throughout.
