I saw one of them very nearly take a woman down today. Didn't make any attempt to cycle around her. There's something very confrontational about their attitude - almost like collective small-man syndrome. They seem to think they can do what they want as soon as they climb on a saddle. words removed. N.B. You've done this to yourself!! So true. I sometimes sit in a reserved seat as people regularly don’t bother finding them but if they do you give it up. A couple of weeks ago though I was sitting in what I assumed was a non reserved seat as the reservation cards were in place and there wasn’t one on the seat I took. An hour into the journey this couple come up to me, the guy looking annoyed and he barks at me that I need to get out of their seat. Now normally I’d apologise and move but he got my back up so I bit my tongue and as I started to stand explained that there was no reservation ticket so I wasn’t aware. At this point the guy goes from annoyed to obnoxious and starts giving me a load of abuse much to his girlfriends embarrassment. So I sit back down and ask to see his reservation, at which point he goes nuts. Now I would never normally do that but I felt like showing him up. By this point he is shouting and swearing at me, everyone is listening and he is going purple. So I explained there was no reservation ticket on the seat but if he showed me his then I’d happily move. Finally he hands it over, you can imagine the glee in my voice as I handed it back to him and said “This is coach B, coach C is the one between B and D” and put my headphones on before he could reply, sound off obviously so I could hear the penny drop.
