Ta. What was Niall Quinn's role? (I appreciate I should know all this, but I just don't remember very well)

Think from memory he initially took Keane's side and then overnight sided to big Mick but could be wrong.

He was a senior player in the dressing room along with Steve Staunton who practically licked the FAI arse on the matter as if nothing was wrong. He also tried to be peacemaker

this is the same FAI who had a womens team strike last week for similar reasons Keane made at the time

When you look at sunderlands squad geez its in more of a mess than ours. Aging players, some foreigh flops ans generally average.  Its going to cost them a fortune to sort their squad out in this division.

And also the fact if Newcastle want better players  and sell proven quality in this league  (e.g ritchie, gayle) they won't sell to Sunderland.

I think they are in serious trouble if they don't get taken over. Although I expect someone would come in for them. Hopefully will be a long process that drags on so we don't have to worry about them too much next season

The problem is that like us they never knew when to quit. It has been one disastrous window after another for the best part of 5 years, lumping in huge sums, for marginal gain, and no resale or long term success. They would have been better shutting up shop and just going down years ago.

Of course they would. They would sell them to whoever offered the best deal, if that were Sunderland they would sell to them especially with them being in a lower division.

As for the above transfer activity... why oh why didn't one of our ex managers take all our crap for us like Moyes has done for Everton.

Djilobodji came from Chelsea?  And cost £8m?!?!??!!

When Chelsea signed hm for £4m, Mourinho said he didn't even know who he was and had no say in the signing.... plays once, gets loaned out and then joins Sunderland for double the fee.

That's arguably the worst selection of transfers in a season ever.
