Good point but difference this time is a lot of clubs struggling for big funds to buy him

Salah is in a perfect spot too. Is a chance that transfer fees might be a thing of the past or even more release clauses. PSG this summer made 4 big free signings and Mbappe going next summer

Why would a player not just run down the contract and get a huge deal for themselves, cut out the middle man.

I think there are a couple of risks in that for Salah, one for his reputation, the Liverpool fans would never forgive him, and one from a sporting perspective - in eighteen months time, he might not be quite the player he is today, or he could pick up an injury. For Salah, the iron is very, very hot right now, he's in amazing form and at the peak of his powers, with just long enough left to worry Liverpool and the full weight of Liverpools support on his side of the negotiating table.

Liverpool will probably find a creative way of paying him what he wants without it being a headline £500k a week.

Maybe a massive signing bonus, some shares, image rights, a clothes brand in their club shop or other way to get money into his bank without rocking the boat with other players too much.

The club would love to say here's a 3 year contract, with an option to extend by another year.

Salah probably wants a 5 year contract, looking at over £100 million for it. There's a risk involved at his age as he may start to slow down as the contract goes on.

They have Firminho, Mane, Jota, Minamino and Origi so if they do decide to let him go and not cave in then they have cover for now.

It’ll be painful to let him go but if he really wants that kind of money it might be the best thing in the long run.

Its a big moment for Liverpool how they handle this.

Not sure Firmino is near the end and Mane has been very wasteful in the last year

Salah goals are really keeping them going

Minamino and Origi aren't in the same league unfortunately, just not good enough. YEah they're cover, but it's a huge step down.

And Firmino is great but is getting on, won't be there for long

Yeah, I agree. Just saying if they decide to flog him in January they aren’t completely **** (like we would have been last year if we lost Watkins for example).

They have several quality striking options still at the club who will score goals, obviously not as good as Salah. They probably have the best depth of strikers in the Premier League.

Yeah you're right.

But I can't see them entertaining selling Salah. I don't think anyone could afford him and I don't think there would be appetite to sell him unless he's kicking up a fuss

Hilarious how TalkSport and SSN spent the last 2 days talking about if Liverpool were treated unfairly. Klopp making out an agenda against the club.

Quickly forgot about the Salah penalty / Ings no penalty against Villa and the clear cut penalty on TAA against Newcastle.

Simon Jordan seems to be the first to correctly come out and have a go at Klopp. Called him a bully for his antics

He probably is but when the refs and var refs are getting so many cricitical incidents wrong its undertandable.

He was talking about him today getting in the referees face and having a go at the at the end of the Tottenham game, which is not aloud for obvious reasons. Anyone else would have been disciplined. But not Klopp no way, no action taken.
