rodders0223
He can't run that fast though anymore, maybe in a straight line but he has no agility, he can't come inside, he can't turn or change directions. I have defended him and defended him, but he is **** shite. I don't agree that he is lazy, or that he doesn't care because he does, and IMO he puts a shift in, sometimes to the detriment of his own game, but he is shite. Just shite.
OutByEaster? Posted January 12, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 12, 2015 I can't help but have a niggling feeling that Gabby is behind many of the problems we have behind the scenes with the squad, team selection and assistants. Just speculation of course... He's Captain for the exact opposite of this - if you listen to other players speak about him, or listen to people who know players speak about the team, he's well liked by the players, he's someone that will stick up for them, he's noisy, a joker and the kind of man that keeps spirits up in the camp. He's not the brightest, and his form's been awful for a long time - he may never get it back - but I don't think it's fair to saddle him with this sort of stuff just because people have fallen out with him. OutByEaster? Posted January 12, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 12, 2015 he would be dropped if he wasn't a villa fan He wouldn't be at the club if he wasn't a Villa fan The manager would have dropped him if it wasn't for him being a Villa fan? Of course he would - that's how managers think. We'd have released him if he wasn't a Villa fan? Of course we would - that's how we make decisions. Is this a be angry with Gabby contest? P3te
The fact that "he's a local lad" has helped Gabby immensely
icouldtelltheworld
I'd say being our record Premier League goalscorer probably helped a bit too.

Villan4Life
he would be dropped if he wasn't a villa fan He grew up supporting Arsenal not Villa, he has said this a few times before including one interview with Ashley Young.

meregreen
I'd say being our record Premier League goalscorer probably helped a bit too. That's really not saying very much. His goals per game stat is pretty shit, and getting worse every season.

TRO
He has never been a favourite of mine, too limited and inconsistent to get me excited. He has had his moments, granted, but by and large he has had more out of Aston Villa than Aston Villa have had out of him. I think he is looking lost and forlorn in a possession based side....He only had any effect in a smash & grab style. Modern day defenders sus that out now.
Spray
Get rid in the summer. He's a big reason why I won't be seen around VP or any other ground lately, the guy is a waste of a shirt, space, past it and brainless. So why the hell would I pay to go watch knowing he'll be in the team every week doing nothing??
Woodytom
Hope Lambert just gave Gabby the Bent treatment - Gave him the armband and will now ostracize him and ship him out. I can't help but have a niggling feeling that Gabby is behind many of the problems we have behind the scenes with the squad, team selection and assistants. Just speculation of course... Been saying similar for a while. Allegedly part of the problem under Houllier.,
Woodytom
The fact that "he's a local lad" has helped Gabby immensely How so? Genuinely I'm interested. Well it's saved him a hell of a lot of stick from the fans for a start. I honestly believe hes been nothing short of a disgrace for 3/4 years now. He's never cared anymore than anyone else. He literally must piss himself at his wage slip, knowing where a lot of the money is coming from. I know I would!
