Genie
Pep and Klopp showing just how good Jose is.
Stevo985 Posted August 22, 2017 VT Supporter Share Posted August 22, 2017 Not sure why Pep is getting mocked for last night. City were utterly dominant, even with a man less. Poor finishing let them down. Which is quite funny. But hardly a stick to beat Pep with. It happens.
TrentVilla Posted August 22, 2017 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2017 I think people just think for the money spent they should be better than they are, particularly at home and that isn't just limited to last night. So I think it's more than just last night, whenever he doesn't win people will be pointing at him given the staggering spending. Is that fair, no but it is to be expected. I personally think he did a poor job last season, pressure is on this one.

BOF Posted August 22, 2017 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2017 When you're the manager of Blank Cheque FC you're going to get mocked when you don't win. It's as simple as that. It's what football fans do. They're not judging him per se. It's just schadenfreude and without it football is a lot less fun
Zatman
Dont care if he scored but you dont win league titles with players like Raheem Sterling John Stones as well

VillaChris
Sterling took his goal really well. I think he gets an incredible amount of stick tbh.
HanoiVillan
He gets a lot of deeply undeserved stick because his finishing isn't really international standard, but the rest of his play is excellent.

It's his price tag. If he'd never left Liverpool and was playing as he is he'd be much more highly rated. English players go for massive price tags and people expect them to be Messi. The same will happen with Walker.
Genie
On his day Sterling is incredibly dangerous but like most young players he can be very inconsistent.
PaulC
Made a huge difference when he came off the bench. the price tag is crazy but Everton have just paid the same price fort a player I wouldn't rate as good
Zatman
For me he just has pace. No composure, poor decision making and average technique He wouldnt be as good as Gabby at same age
PaulC
His best season was when he played with Suarez at Liverpool. He's been a 7 or 8 goals a season man since then. Still just 22 but think he will probably end up another Theo Walcott. Not terribly impressed by Sane to be honest
sne
Mike Dean making himself the center of attention yet again. Gifting City the game and totally losing it for the last 45 minutes of the game. Clown.
This Could Be Rotterdam
Ridiculous end to the game! Ref lost total control. Pep won't be moaning about the added time now will he.

PaulC
I think the ref let too many wreckless tackles go unpunished. By doing that he lost control of the game. The added time on added time was justified. We wasted over a minute with him sorting out the managers. Then was a another substitution
