Emile isn't stupid - Gabby and Bent are clearly our future - and with Wiemann and Delfouneso around he's not going to have much hope of a long contract here - encouraging words to keep him motivated. If we did give him another year, I'd be surprised if it was more than one more year though. This is how I see it, and hope things pan out. I don't think we should keep him for any longer than his current contract, but we need to keep him motivated for the season. Wigan at home last year, he absolutely flipped at the ref for not giving him any protection against the Wigan players. I thought he was going to chin someone. he was subbed soon after. I don't see us extending his contract unless he's willing to reduce his wages but then there will probably be a team like Leicester (if promoted) who'll be willing to offer him something similar to what he's on now. NeilS Posted October 14, 2011 Share Posted October 14, 2011 The problem I have with Heskey is he just isn't a goal threat. He rarely looks like scoring and is so clumsy in front of goal. He is the one player that you don't want to see coming on when you're looking for a goal to get back in the game, his strike rate is something like 1 in 6 for us which is truely awful. Majority of Villa fans focus on the negatives of emile Heskey and rarely give him the credit he deserves. Could have been better of course but could have been worse. Its been ok, and this season hes played well.
