Popular Post chrisp65
I’m currently sat in an office 200 miles from Preston. The job requires a colour match of some existing panels, which requires a RAL chart. These charts, in physical form, have become very difficult to obtain. We’ve bought one and had it posted to site and inevitably it’s gone missing. We can’t find any local outlets that will sell one. We are not driving 200 miles to hand over a RAL chart and drive back again. So I randomly phoned a couple of local businesses that looked like the sort of people that would know what a RAL chart was. Boom, straight away I’ve been offered a lend of someone’s RAL chart. They don’t know me from Adam, they are getting no work out of this, they are happy for me to send a bloke from site to pick up their RAL chart and then return it later / tomorrow. Hail, hail, the good folk of Preston.

Popular Post mjmooney Posted February 23 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted February 23 We've had a few jobs that needed doing, mainly a new side door for the garage. The bloke we normally use has become unreliable, so we sacked him off and got a new joiner in. He's been round and sorted it all out nicely at a reasonable cost. But the best bit is that he's a Brummie, and a Villa fan.

It's interesting that a company selling food would use that song.

Anthony Posted February 28 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28 The owners of the Crooked House are being forced to rebuild it. Nice to see arsholes fail to get away with it occasionally. BBC Quote Mr Lees said the authority had "not taken this action lightly" but it was "committed to do what we can to get the Crooked House rebuilt." I certainly agree they should have been punished for what they did. They should have been charged with fraud and had all the insurance money seized. I think they should donate whatever bricks are left and a big wad of cash to Black Country Museum and rebuild it there.

sidcow Posted February 28 VT Supporter Share Posted February 28 I would think it actually easier to build it new on an angle than try to keep a building up that's started to significantly subside.

I think they burned both just to get the land cleared. I would think at best they had removal of debris cover (but probably not even that as they wouldn't have had insurers authority to demolish it within 24 hours. If they did have full cover (well Fire Lightning Explosion cover only which is max on an empty property) they would have been in breach of cover demolishing the remains before a loss adjustor been out.
