Problem is, that's a Spanish player on top of the Argentinian, Togolese, Paraguayan, Brazilian, Dutch, German, English and French options they have in midfield/attack now. If they can gel together then by all means they are in contention but it's still disgusting how money has just destroyed the game.

Pretty obvious the only team to make an Firm offer for Silva was Man city thats why he moved there im sure theres been lots of interest as there has been for the last 2 years but prolly got fed up waiting for the right club and just thought '**** it atleast its good money'.

I thought Silva would turn them down TBH.

There was another club but they were too slow putting the money up and so Silva only had one option seeing as his club had accepted the fee.. Been a couple of players this club have missed now due to the chairman insisting he gets involved in all the big deals

He should stick to his yachts.

which means that we'll have another Barry situation on our hands.

Milner hasn't made any noises about leaving though has he? Barry quite clearly made it well known that he wanted out. Until Milner does that then this isn't a Barry situation and Milner is quite happy where he is.

In reallity hasn't money always been a major factor in football. Back in Villa's heyday, at the end of the 19th century, wasn't there some scandal about them making illegal payments?

Pretty much.

They say that money doesn't guarantee success, but pretty much every successful team ever has had money.

Silva is an extremely talented player, however I'm not convinced that he will gel in the PL. I will wait to see before I pass judgement.

If they can get Yaya Toure, then I really do think that could prove to be their best signing. He would give them that strength in midfield.

It seems the arse wipes that own West Ham haven't got the message from West Brom or the cash to back up their interest in Dorrans, after being told to do one with their £4m bid a month or so ago they have returned with a £4.5m offer. What planet do those dildo peddling chimps live on?

Seriously why would West Brom sell their best player when they've just got promoted? Why would they be tempted by an extra £500k? Idiots.

Skysports.com understands West Ham have launched a new bid for highly-rated West Brom ace Graham Dorrans.

West Ham have made Dorrans one of their top transfer targets and they saw a £4million bid for the Scottish international turned down by West Brom at the back end of April.

Dorrans has established himself as one of the best young players in Britain after playing an instrumental role in West Brom's promotion to the Premier League last season.

The 23-year-old scored 18 goals from midfield and was named the club's player of the season as well as being included in the PFA Championship team of the year as reward for his successful campaign.

A number of other Premier League clubs are thought to be keen on the former Livingston man, but West Ham are determined to bring the skilful playmaker to Upton Park.

New Hammers boss Avram Grant is keen to rebuild the squad at Upton Park after they narrowly avoided relegation last season and the club are thought to have upped their offer to £4.5million for Dorrans.

West Brom are determined to keep hold of Dorrans as they prepare for life back in the top flight, but they could struggle to fend off a lucrative offer for a player they signed for a bargain £100,000 in 2008.

Also Santos have rejected West Ham's bid for Neymar..

Santos have confirmed they have rejected a bid from West Ham for striking starlet Neymar.

The Hammers have good contacts in South America and they have turned their attentions to the most highly-rated young forward in the region.

Real Madrid have been chasing him for over 12 months and tried but failed to finalise a deal last year, whilst Inter Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United are all well aware of the 18-year-old after tracking his progress closely.

But just like when they beat some of Europe's elite to land Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano in 2006, West Ham are looking to do the same again by signing Neymar.

They have offered an initial £12million (€15million) for the player - which has been rejected.

Santos confirmed they had turned down the bid as they also shunned a similar offer from French giants Lyon for another of their top young players - midfielder Ganso.

"We had offers of €15million for each," Santos sporting director Luiz Nunes Pedro Conceicao confirmed to the Brazilian media.

"We have not had time to formally contact either clubs, but our position is clear.

"We have not, and do not, want to open negotiations to sell either player.

"On several occasions now we have said that we will not negotiate, and this needs to be clear."

Despite the rejection, local sources claim that West Ham are already preparing to return with an offer of £20million (€25million) - which could be enough to persuade Santos.

Reports are also suggesting that West Ham are only seeing the deal as a short-term measure as they will look to move Neymar on after 12 months, with a move to Chelsea in 2011 already being mooted.

Not explicitly so, but he's hardly committed himself to Villa either. There have been one or 2 noises from players and ITK sources to suggest that he may favour the move.

Being reported that Kaiserslautern have secured the loan signings of Jan Moravek from Schalke, and Erwin "Jimmy" Hoffer from Napoli. I actually got to see Hoffer play for Rapid Vienna whilst on hols (got his name on a bastard shirt a month before he **** off! :x), and was a bit underwhelmed considering his reputation (bought the shirt before going to the match! :P). Unsurprisingly he's not forced his way into a very good Napoli side, loaning him out makes sense.

As the newspaper "Österreich' reports, forward Erwin Hoffer (23) has a lending contract with 1. Kaiserslautern FC signed. The forward stands topically near Naples SSC under contract and should collect with the " red devils ' play practise.

Bundesliga-Aufsteiger 1.

Federal league-promoted team 1. Kaiserslautern FC has obliged Jan Moravek (photo) of the rogue FC 04. The 20-year-old midfield player changes for a year till 2011 on lending base. A call option was not agreed at explicit wish of the vice master, informed the FCK on Wednesday.

Czech Moravek by birth graduated from seven parts for rogues 04 in the federal league and, besides, achieved two hits. Up to now in the Czech A-national team he was used twice. « Jan Moravek is a creative midfield player who fits very well in our draft. He is young, wants to develop and has sporty purposes with eyes », said FCK coach Marco Kurz.

Not enough players have "sporty purposes with eyes" these days. :D
