Digne got a yellow for complaining about getting a blood nose, but Thiago and Enzo surround him and rip into him at the whistle and nothing...

He got a yellow for wrapping his arm around Sterling and dragging him back - admittedly after he'd been fouled, but the ref missed the original foul, or didn't think it was one, and VAR can't overturn that unless it's a red which it definitely wasn't.

Pretty even overall.

Chelsea's problem this season hasn't been inability to create chances, they create a lot, but i think we've restricted them reasonably well. It's not bad defending or lucky if the officials are letting blatant offsides run and they get a shot away or put it in the net, only to have it pulled back.

Both Diaby and Watkins have been poor tbh.

Kamara finally looks back to his usual standard, which is much needed.

Geez, some of you lot are embarrassing.

Sterling was through, Digne knew it and stopped him illegally. That's a yellow.

He copped one in the face for his trouble, but clearly that was accidental.

What strange reasonableness is this?

Emery hasn't been afraid to take off McGinn around the 60-70 min mark lately.

Ramsey for McGinn is the obvious replacement.

i'd see Tielemans as the natural McGinn replacement, Ramsey likes to play that little bit higher up the pitch.

Might be harder to see from up on your high horse but the elbow to the face, a foul, came first

I take some comfort from knowing that the ref is in his changing room cringing and losing the will to live knowing that lots of bad decisions are subjective, but he can't explain away not playing the full amount of time, so now he's trying to figure out what to put in his match report

Many fouls are accidental, yet they are still fouls. What is so embarrassing about having that opinion? This league is also supposed to take head injuries seriously, so there's always that too.

Nobody is disputing that, the foul is missed, so the right outcome should have been blowing before Digne commits his foul. But he doesn't, and then Digne commits a clear yellow card foul. You have to play to the whistle, you can't just go around fouling people and complain it shouldn't count because you were fouled first.

Zaniolo looks to be a real asset. Pretty much a wide target man at times. Allows us to go longer if needed.

Noticed Martinez looking for him long twice already, a complete change of policy from what we usually do.

Commentary is shocking, they had a weak shot straight at martinez in the first 10 minutes, the woman ( why ?) screaming the players name as if it were a thunderbolt shot going into the top corner. The male commentator then says routine easy save from a poor shot.

We need to be that bit quicker in this next 44 minutes or when ever the ref decides he's foing to stop it.

Hopefully no more players get elbowed and carded.

Can we just appreciate Zaniolo's first half. Absolutely looking the part after only being here a few weeks. Great takedown from the clearance, running with the ball is excellent and unlucky not to have had his first goal. Settling in very well imo.

I think he's great but he does slow us down when he holds the ball up sometimes and tries to bring others into play.

I'd prefer Ramsey/Bailey for counterattacking games like this one where we need to be quicker in transition and Zaniolo against the low blockers where we need more guile to unlock teams.
