Not really. Surely you don't have to be Jesus to just be kind to people.

Is he not kind ? Ok he has his views but I certainly wouldn’t have him down as this horrible person . Now Andrew Tate I’m less forgiving on , but I think Mr Peterson is a good man.

Jordan Peterson is a bit like religion in that it mixes up lots of good, sensible advice with lots of insanity. For some people that can be very valuable if they focus mainly on the good advice, and I think that’s why he has so many disciples.

Generally it’s good to be sceptical of people who seem to have answers for everything, especially when their own lives are chaotic.

He's not a good man. He views everything in life as a battle that must be won, which just makes his outlook horrific and makes him a bellend.

That you then elaborate that out into his basically just being a Christian conservative who tries to market himself as not a Christian conservative makes him worse. He treats a section of society as lesser, believes in loads of shit that basically exists to accommodate bad masculine behaviours and treat them as virtues... and so on.

He's not a good person. He's Christian conservative with a verbosity problem who kicks out at anything he dislikes with cruel abandon.

I think you are wrong .... The answer is complicated. I suspect he is more in the tradition of Joseph Campbell. Is he conservative ... on some things perhaps eg grievance studies etc. On the other hand, he thinks of himself as classically British liberal from a philosophical point of view at least.

He is middle of the road from my perspective.

Is every Christian conservative not a good person then?

When I first encountered him I found him to be contentious almost for the sake of it, but now I see him as a very sincere man trying his utmost to spark awareness in a world that's losing touch. Oftentimes he speaks with more authority on matters than I think he should because while I appreciate his concerns and intent is from a heart that wants to contribute in a meaningful way, I don't think he's entirely across all the answers of the matters he speaks on. Which is great!! We learn by engaging what we don't know and seeing if we can't bring about greater understanding of what's true. Sitting on our hands and letting the experts and specialists do it for us is a sure way to see that society's skilled people become lesser available.

For God's sake don't read Jung.

i've read jung, i'm not sure i'd put the two in the same box.

Peterson doesn't bother me much, the things i heard weren't stuff i particularly agreed with - that doesn't make him an extremest of some kind, i don't agree with a lot of people.

Funny how he can think himself to be something he’s not (we judge him by his actions rather than his opinion of himself) but doesn't believe others should be allowed to be who they are.
