He's injured or benched most of this season but you think 15m loan to buy deal is great for 27 year old but rubbishing 3 years younger Zaniolo for 10m more( assuming it's more, I've seen less mentioned)after scoring twice recently all comps

How many games have you seen him play since the start of 2022/23 season to make you think he's a bad signing?

From the bits I've read and seen from people who've watched him more, they describe him as similar to Ollie, but with a higher ceiling?

Jonathan David that is.

If true, having two Ollie's would be pretty ⚡⚡⚡

Similar to Ollie but with a higher ceiling is an insanely high bar. That must be relative to Ligue 1?? If he’s capable of emulating Ollie in the PL and an even higher ceiling he’d have snapped up ages ago. Clubs will pay £100m for that type of striker.

This must be a massive confident boost and vote of confidence for Ollie.

This is copy paste from John Townley over a week ago.

He had a good start back at Leipzig and has been crap since then. Has been dumped out of the first team squad in recent months

Looks like brighton are signing Barco for the buyout fee of €10 Million, we should have been all over this esp with the ages of Moreno and Digne

As said in other thread he is incredibly lightweight and he needs to play for his development. Be a huge risk to throw him in as a left back for us

He’s a prospect for sure, perhaps a signing we’d make a few years down the line to then send him to one of the V Sports teams for a year on loan.

I'm personally not at all fussed about Werner. I doubt he'd play much here, certainly wasn't for RB and couldn't hit a donkey's arse with a banjo the last time he was in this league.
He could go on to be an inspired move but the evidence doesn't suggest that.

Lets get a right back, cover for the CM pivots, and a versatile attacker who can play across the front 4.
Lets get Buendia, Mings, and Tielemans back and get JJ back up to speed. Lets win the league.

but we are in a position where we wouldnt throw him in...

the whole thing would depend on whether or not the digne offer from saudi is real or not but potentially switching digne for barco (also assuming moreno's fitness is actually getting better) and being £10m+ up in the coffers wouldn't be bad business for us

Jonathan David would be a great signing, especially if he knows he's not going to be our top striker unless he wins the job.

The way he is speaking to Boca is that he isnt expecting to be a development prospect when leaving

Fair enough. Its unorthodox but signing HMS Audacious could give us the firepower to get us over the line.
