Europa Conference Final/Champions League Final

Thought they rode their luck a bit at times yesterday and for large parts Fiorentina were competitive. Saw a lot of hammers fans with the "Dagenham Motors" sponsorship shirts using the crossrail round here yesterday. Hopefully this time next year we will have just beaten Wolfsburg or similar in the ECL final

Heard some West Ham fan going on about how they will retain the Conference League next season and win it again.

Daft prick don't even know what competition his team will be in.

Well, if they finish 3rd in their Europa League group and drop into the Europa Conference, they have every chance of defending their title 😉

Come on, that was obviously banter between the two.

No it really wasn't banter, he had to apologise over the comment, if it was banter nothing would have been said.... He thought he was off camera.

It was a really low quality final, you could tell it was a 3rd tier European cup.

What I was thinking the entire game.

West Ham were awful, so was Fiorentina.

If we play anywhere close to our performance levels second half of this season we should walk the competition.

would you not want the same if we won it? or you'd rather a handful of morons were given airtime?

"blowing bubbles up their arse" is a weird comment...do you not feel it was refreshing to hear media hailing the sucess of a team outside the scum 6? if that's us next year, they'll be interviewing mcginn and ramsey and how they've written their names into AVFC history alongside morley and withe, 1982 will be mentioned time and time again and the winning goal will be shown countless times in the build up. like them or not, west ham do have history...would you rather their win was played down? deemed an undercard match for the main event saturday?

Will have had absolutely nothing bad to say about the Fiorentina fans going out of their way to assault West Ham fans in public too. Standard.

No difference in quality from the Europa Imo. That game was even worse.

What I do like though about teams who've not won anything for ages is how intense the atmosphere was last night. O.k stadium was too small but their fanbase probably felt they were back at Upton Park.

Can remember Arsenal-Chelsea playing their final in Baku, half empty and generally had air of a pre season friendly.

To be honest prem teams budgets must be five time fiorentina's, it was to be expected

Viola played much the better football.

I think that's the issue which was highlighted by neutral observers on Italian TV. Mid tier prem teams have all this money and yet their style v european teams is just hit it forward quickly into the channels and hope for an error or set piece, that's all West Ham really did (not that they'd care with result) but with them putting 50m down for Paqueta you'd expect him to be a more dominant CM in their system like say Amrabat was for Fiorentina.

Would've been same for us if we'd fluked a euro qualification under Gerrard but at least under Emery we've got a very good way of playing now back to front which should translate well onto the europa conference stage unless our defence gets stage fright.

I really am hoping for a miracle on Saturday and that Inter are underestimated or Poop overthinks it and does something extreme that doesnt work again.

However, it seems unlikely and the rulebreachers are probably going to finally win it.

When it happens, Lets not forget that the two English clubs that managed an unprecedented treble had to sign Aston Villa’s best players to do it.

Also find it funny how our starboy has kept their starboy on the bench all season. Its still sore to watch him play for them though, and be so happy doing it too; but I suppose it was naive to think he might stay loyal when everything pointed to him wanting to play at a higher level even years before he eventually moved. It sucks losing players that are as good as he was for us, especially when they are fans of the club and you start believing we’re all in this together.

Ah well, Forza Inter

In fairness, West Ham fan at work said he was looking forward to us playing them in next year's final after they get knocked out of the EL.

I don't know why he would be looking forward to it as they will lose.

After about 3 years or whatever it is, people now finally realise that Grealish is better than both Foden and Sterling.
