Its a team game, and having a trio of players like that shoring up the back will allow, at least in theory, our attacking players to do their thing a bit more. This is much more solid: Martinez Cash - Bednarek - Mings - Digne Kamara - Dendoncker - Luiz I have no doubt that Gerrard wont do this though, and will bench Bednarek for Konsa, Luiz for McGinn and Dendoncker for the milk man, giving us zero physicality and an average height of 4ft 2in. Rodders
if it's on loan, then it's fine and suits our immediate needs. I don't object to that. It would be the spending millions on a permanent fee for someone who will be involved for no more than one season that would be a waste
Popular Post useless
We're signing Bednarek as an emergency stop gap because Carlos is injured for six months or whatever it is, we were never going to sign another £30m defender to replace him. If people are complaining that we've not signed Lacroix, then the complaint should be that we should have signed him instead of Carlos, as Carlos was our big defensive signing of the summer, whether Lacroix is actually better than Carlos I don't know, but short term replacement for Carlos was never going to be a big money signing. AshVilla
So were signing Bednarek and Southampton were trying to get Nat Phillips as a replacement. Just shows how highly rated they must have thought he was.

His Name Is Death
Surely our notoriously ruthless owners (especially Edens at Bucks) can't be looking at all this and feeling easy about it?
sharkyvilla
It's depressing how we completely changed our transfer policy from young and hungry with sell on value to this.

CVByrne
Bednarek is at least better than Konsa who is not even Premier League level anymore.
stewiek2
Say what you like but we really are using Gerrard's Rangers philosophy this deadline day, signing players who would t be out of place in the Scottish League... #grabscoat

CVByrne
I'd say Southampton will fail to get a replacement and the Bednarek deal will fall through. That's how our luck goes

The Fun Factory
Bednarek on loan is a reasonable move for extra cover due to the unplanned Carlos injury. However could we just have kept Hause on instead?

I can't imagine Bednarek will start more than 10, 15 games this year
