Brilliant win. Absolutely fantastic first half where we really should have took advantage but typical Villa we just never seem to do that. Second half a bit rough at times but Palace were only ever gonna improve.

First defeat at home for them this season, a good start this from Gerrard.

Just want to give a quick shoutout to Michael Salisbury for one of the worst refereeing performances of all time. So far out of his depth.

to be fair, only Chelsea and Liverpool had beaten Palace in the league so far, and the Liverpool/Chealsea losses for Palace were away.....so not too shabby a win at all, beating them at their place.

I wonder how SG and Co have managed to get the group together and united so quickly?
That’s the kind of performance we lacked under DS towards the end.
So glad to be looking up the table now!

In the same way Smith has got a win and draw for Norwich? Who knows...

Why am I so pissed off about conceding that last min goal?

For me it's twofold. 1. Emi martinez is my ff keeper and 2. I put a fiver on 2-0 at 16-1 and considered the cash out in the 90th minute but thought nah, it's in the bank

Suggests to me it was the mental side of things under Smith, more likely the coaching changes, unhappy players with nothing clicking

They've got their mojo back and are putting a shift in, shit isn't it that we should celebrate players giving it absolutely everything because its not a Given but that is the case, we have a new lease of life

Nakamba and Cash stand out players for me.

Nervy second half and could tell it was the refs first premier league game. He seemed to let quite a lot go that normally wouldn't in the Premier league but then blew for some soft ones too. I think both sets of fans would be frustrated with his performance

Watkins struggling to impose himself on the game, looks off the pace.

Overall great to get back to back wins
