Stevie G is a football management goon - you know the type in 70’s and 80’s Bollywood movies who used to wear tights over their heads to show they’re a villain.

He talked about distances between players when he first came in  ‘wonderful’ I thought but it’s gotten worse we’re either too compact so we can’t create anything or we’re too open .

Winning mentality? Lampard and Roy Keane won infinitely more trophies and were important to their team’s success would anyone take them as their managers?

Rooney did a fantastic job at Derby he would have been successful at Rangers too.

If we are serious about disrupting the top 6 and The British and American protectorate Saudi Arabia we need to stop wishing aimlessly that someone will come good and get someone like Pochettino in. And the bollocks about him not coming - there’s been enough noise in the media recently that he would consider it even take it. Read between the lines.

It can only be blind hope at this stage.

Agreed because it’s not based on any evidence that he’s learning from his mistakes or learning generally.  Literally before the City game he was blaming the players, saying him and his management team were all in this pointing to the players.

Even if they was the best on the training ground he won’t pick either

Not necessarily true.

I specifically remember when Leon Bailey was in poor form in games, starting over Buendia when even I didn't feel he should be, and SG said he was starting because " He was the best in training " etc.

So this is impossible to say " just because ".

Nakamba is also a bizarre one because he was starting and strong when SG first came in.

No link as it's from FB:

Is that an admission that they weren't in his thoughts because he thought they were going to secure moves away?

How is Morgan supposed to force his way back into the team if he doesn't even make the bench? How is Marv supposed to do the same if he doesn't come off the bench?

Dunno mate.

Let's just hope some common sense is prevailing and it's an opportunity to heal a couple riffs.

After all we are paying them wages and they are capable players.

Probably but it also seems to indicate they happy not playing as didn’t manage to secure a move.

Maybe Gerrard is giving them a chance to step up in a training and showing they want to play.

Nah, that’s far too sensible. Let’s just stick with Gerrard is a clueless clown who is destroying the club and morale.

Does Gerrard attend any of the training, from what I heard it was the coaches that are leading the training sessions.

The matches are just the bits we see, all the other work training or in the gym etc is what the coaches see and if they aren't doing it they aren't getting picked.

This idea that if they don't play in games "how can we know how well they'd do" is such a frustrating argument. WE won't know, but THEY will, from training.

The likes of Bailey excelled in training, did well and forced his way into the team. Just because McGinn is horribly out of form it doesn't mean that the alternatives are only not being picked because the managers an idiot, if they aren't even playing to his level right now that probably says a lot about them tbh.

There are a lot of sticks to beat Gerrard with, but not playing 2 players that the previous manager also didn't really play isn't one of them

Have you watched ANY training video on social media or site?

Do you genuinely think he is never at training?

I know it's a general swipe " joke " on here but surely you don't actually believe this?

Luiz is definitely doing better yet McGinn is the one starting? Add to that, changing a bad player or a player who’s out of form and changing something new is better than trying the same with the same result every week.
