that lad has taken dogs abuse for a couple of years because he hadnt lived up to his potential, or his price tag, or what everyone expected of him...

Hes knuckled down under Unai, played his arse off, and we are reaping the rewards of it...

Well done Leon...

He spent 80 minutes basically just taking the absolute piss out of Gvardiol. One of the best defenders in World football.

When he's on his game, his trickery, pace and directness are a nightmare for anyone to handle.

Key to his turnaround this season is his confidence and directness.  Been a sensation so far with a huge increase in goal contributions.  Great to see, really pleased for him

Fact that there is less pressure on him due to the signings of Diaby and Zaniolo I feel helped.

And this is why we support players when they're going through bad patches instead of writing them off 👍

You’re allowed to criticise players, he was really poor now he’s playing great, absolutely deserves the praise and is impacting games.

or the fact that his manager now knows what he is doing at the top end of football club management and knows how to utilise him to get the best out of him?

Credit to him, he talked the talk with his confident personality. He's legit been excellent this season, his stats are **** mind bending good. Emery is happy binning off Diaby (who has been excellent) because Leon has just been better.

Just credit to the man for his resilience. I'm happy for Leon. Excellent only words to describe him right now

I'm one of those who thought he was never going to make it at Villa but glad to be proven wrong. However he did also admit he struggled with injuries in his time since joining...

Unai Emery has improved so many players who were struggling for direction, tactical awareness etc under Smith and then that fool Gerrard only made them worse.

Amazing that Bailey is keeping Diaby out now.
