Sure but all it takes is an injury coinciding  with a suspension for us to be **** if we don't sign a cb/rb. Imagine if we faced lille with Chambers at CB or RB we could be torn to pieces.

I'm not sure why Chambers gets a bad rap.

90 percent of the time we've needed him, he's been fine.

He's good going forward, but he was also lazy in the second half and didn't provide sufficient defensive cover in my opinion. I really think he needs competition as currently he's a shoe in on the right hand side of defence or as a wing back, and there's nobody else (except Martinez) as comfortable in their place.

I quite like him. I'm just concerned with him having to play in the event of an injury crisis.

Naturally but he is 5th choice centre back, any team that goes that far down to the bones will be worried playing that player. He is fine for his squad position

I think he is fine for the squad position if mings was fit. But 2 injuries and he's up. We could end up needing to start him for like a full month if we get unfortunate with some middle term injuries and not just knocks.

I think we could do with 1 more player in that position to provide competition for cash and cover for Konsa and Carlos at rcb.

found another wrinkle in the squad with cash playing rm

he looked great in that position - his natural attributes suit him playing there and it adds a bit of extra defensive cover along that side

Said it before when people called him specialist RB vs Konsa. He's an RM winger at Forest converted to RB. He played RM and scored against us in the 5-5

We don't even have 5 healthy CBs right now- we have 4 (Pau/Konsa/Carlos/Chambers).  Which is why we need another CB imo given how we play 3 CBs every game now.

Last season Cash was at times our best player. Just a reminder.

I am glad he did so well today because the slagging him off was getting a little ridiculous imo.

Agreed that the slagging off is ridiculous. That said, I don't think he was our best player in more than 1 or 2 matches last year. I think the WC and the injuries really affected him. It was the year before that where he was often our best player.

Dendoncker played in back 3 for Wolves and Belgium. Kamara played several seasons at CB start of career. They are both more CBs than Chambers. We have cover worst case, people just want to make out we don't to sign another player that they don't even want in starting line up

Yeah he was excellent two seasons ago, but also last season imo. Which is why I think the sudden criticisms of him have been a bit odd. He's made a few defensive mistakes sure, but all in all nothing to say that he all of a sudden is not fit for fight in our team. Even last time he was heavily criticised when we lost to Newcastle he was basically fouled out of the offside trap so didn't even think that was really his fault.

Anyways, he's a good player and shouldn't be a scapegoat.

His defensive work hasn’t been great in recent weeks. It’s not scapegoating to say that. Matty still sorely needs competition around him. I’m really happy for him as he’s always been a great attacking threat when he’s been able to get forward.

I also really like him, partly because my Son absolutely loves him.

But he also seems like a great guy, very humble interview there. Wonderful for him to have had a good game.

Brilliant when he says: "I'd play anywhere for this club..."
