Oh OK, every time someone young, fit and healthy gets a fever I’ll send my thoughts and prayers.

Yeah, shocking tweet from his club wishing him well and saying he’s following medical advice and resting at home for 7 days, absolutely shocking..

You know there's this thing called Coronavirus going around at the minute, don't you?!

Player collapses that morning from a virus that we're being told is part of the apocalypse, all of the leagues above them are stopped because it's deemed too unsafe... And they should just man up and crack on like nothings happened and everything is perfectly fine?

You think that his team mates really have a shit about a football match following that? Stupid by the club not to pull the game, heads will have gone

How so? Why would their heads have gone because their team mate has CoVid 19? Seems there is a lot of ignorance about the risks to young, healthy, fit people on here.

You may spend time with people with this virus, we all will.

Furthermore, the chief scientist and medical officer don’t have a problem with sporting events.

I don't know about you, but I personally wouldn't be in the right headspace. Not because I'm worried about my teammates health, nor my own health. But thinking I could have it and spread it would make me feel uneasy.

Shocking decision for any games to be played.

It’s not shocking at all. Listen to the CMO and CSA. Have you stopped going to the shops or getting a train or bus?

Nail on the head

This my team mate is young and healthy, I'm young and healthy **** it let's just go play football notion is bollocks

What about wives, kids, parents etc that's before you throw in they will be semi pro and have day jobs and bills that require more than stat sick pay

The man up stuff is nonsense, of course their heads will have gone

Massively ignorant to say they are likely percentage wise to be perfectly fine so they needn't worry about a thing and just go out and play like this is all normal, even the idea that they watched or heard that a team mate collapsed from it "nah he's fine..." you think it goes in to their mindset that if they get it and collapse through fever they will be fine too?

Vince McMahon is challenging the authorities in Florida so he can still host Wrestlemania 😂😂

Dana White also wants a live UFC show in London next weekend with a full house. He said the show must go on because Trump and Pence told him

Kettering 3-1 down.

I went up to Telford to watch it yesterday, fans there from all the Midlands clubs and it was actually quite nice. Sadly there were some young Villa fans there who didn’t cover themselves in glory and this resulted in a stadium announcement to not use foul and abusive language as there’s lots of children around.

Any Telford fan I spoke to yesterday said it was appalling it went ahead. Many elderly there too. Just don’t know what to make of it. I’m pining for the days when we were all arguing over Brexit now!

I think people need to take things in to their own hands and just not go to these events. The government strategy seems quite sinister to me.

Agreed. I just think of my own Nan who lives alone and is having all her clubs and bits she goes to with her church cancelled. I imagine for some of those at the match yesterday, these games are their only outlet and chance to socialise, but if you know the risks then it’s up to the individual I suppose.

It is frightening, but unprecedented. There’s no blueprint for this.

Good on him, a lot of these very rich footballers can do more to help the sick and vulnerable. No football they have time in their hands to put something back into society. Get our there and buy and deliver food supplies for the vulnerable and over 70s

Ok lets assume there's two options in play. Void the season or play the matches later in the year.

Scenario one. Can you promote or relegate teams when there are 30 points left to play for? When some teams have played less or more matches? When the fixture list have been completely different? When some teams have more home matches left compared to away ones? It seems unlikely. It would open up a big world of litigation wouldn't it.

Scenario two. If they are played at a later stage. What's the likely time? Seems unlikely that any football will be played until June/July. Assuming teams have to field the same teams, how will player sales to avoid relegation come into play? Teams won't spend big money on players and let them play 10 matches for another club mean while. Everything will be delayed. Won't there be a summer break? Is it even likely we will be back to normal by summer? How about players going out of contract in June?

Scenario three. There's no relegations, two promotions, no European football. How do you compensate the play off teams? How can you decide the CL spots? Will there be any European football?

Unless you just void the season and start over I can't understand how you'll not be in a big pile of trouble.

Will they ignore the FFP for a season? Is that fair?

This leaves the suggestion from some there's an ancient FA rule coming into play. Will the rule be adjusted for the modern game?

Anyone got any sensible input here? I am so curious about how this can pan out.
