So hold on, Liverpool play their B team in earlier rounds, and suddenly now they can’t field 13 players? Absolutely rotten

We had to play league games because we played some youth players vs Barrow

All above board

So the lineup that we put out for what is essentially a preliminary round of the EFL cup for PL teams affected our criteria for postponing a game in the latter competition, while Liverpool can field this team in the previous round of the same tournament and not be expected to play them in this one:

Another farcical non game in Italy where the Bologna - Inter game has been postponed due to Covid in Bologna, but since Inter turn up before the game and warm up they are handed a 3-0 victory. Despite knowing the game was not going to get played.

Aubaumeyang has it now after partying with teammates in Dubai ahead of the AFCON. He is captain for Gabon but might miss the start of the tournament now. Oh captain my captain...

Mario Lemina was at the same party and is also infected.

We should've just gone to Elland Road on the 28th and started warming up on the pitch.

Leyton Orient should sue the EFL after what happened last year

The same rules were applied to both teams. Both Orient and Liverpool were allowed to postpone if they could find a replacement date before the commencement of the next round of the tournament.

Even worse is we had play those players because we had a previous mass outbreak in the senior squad and couldn’t postpone the game. Against the same club.

I have no issue with us having to play the games we did this season but of **** course Liverpool get the rub of the green, again and again.

Meanwhile, Spurs are trying to sue UEFA because the Europa Conference League applied the same rules...

Afcon 2021: Covid-hit teams must play with just 11 players and no keeper

Quote

Countries suffering Covid outbreaks will have to play their Africa Cup of Nations matches even if they have only 11 players available.

New guidelines from the Confederation of African Football (Caf) state matches will still go ahead even if none of the 11 players is a goalkeeper.

Any nation unable to fulfil a fixture will forfeit the game 2-0.

The guidance has been issued after several nations reported Covid cases before the tournament starts on Sunday.

Caf said that in "exceptional cases" the tournament's organising committee "will take the appropriate decision".

On Friday Egypt delayed their departure for the tournament, which is taking place in Cameroon, and were forced to cancel training after coronavirus cases were reported in their camp.

The Pharaohs, who have won the competition a record seven times, eventually flew to Cameroon on Saturday.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was among two players to test positive in the Gabon squad on Thursday.

Guinea were forced to leave behind defender Mikael Dyrestam, midfielder Morlaye Sylla and striker Seydouba Soumah at their training base in Rwanda.

Cape Verde and debutants Gambia were hit by several positive tests last week, while Tunisia have also reported cases from their pre-tournament camp.

The AFCON is gonna be an absolute sh*tshow and disaster.

There is also a rather serious terror threat against a couple of nations which hopefully turns out to be nothing but I wouldn't count on it.
