Sounds like it will be a terrific day for young families with Peppa Pig and George, Hey Duggee, SpongeBob SquarePants and PAW Patrol’s Marshall in attendance at the Trinity Fan & Family Fun Zones. The Trinity Fan Zone also has free junior Aston Villa kit giveaways, keepy uppy competition & roaming entertainment from a magician (not the one previously charged with the task of keeping Small Heath in the WSL:crylaugh:)& a balloon modeller. The Family Zone has activities including Football Darts, Inflatable Axe Throwing, Rodeo Football, Inflatable Assault Course, Dance Machine, Footpool, Giant Connect 4 and the 10ft Buzzwire: (full details are available on the club website).

Great pricing by the club too for this, with tickets from £1 for U18s with adults or the chance to try out some hospitality @ £35 (adults) & £14 (U18s).

Taking my 13 month old for his first trip to VP. Far too young to enjoy the match or likely most of the fan zone stuff but we’ll get a photo outside the back of the Holte together :flag:

Missing quite a few players, notably Allen, Patten, and Scott,  three of our best, Allen and Scott especially affects us as it means we're starting with just one specialist midfielder, albeit both Blindkilde and Petzelberger can play there, they're more usually thought of as No.10 types and often play as part of the front three.

Basically the injuries have forced us into naming a very attacked minded line up which is probably what contributed to us losing to Arsenal to the extent we did last week, hopefully doesn't cost us this week.

Won't be an easy game for us, they never are in this league even at the best of times, never mind when we have an injury crisis, but if we can get the three points would be a great end to the season for so many reasons.

Can't see the game as the FA Player is having 'technical difficulties' but we're losing 1-0, going to be hard for us to win the game now considering how hard we find it to score goals.

The player seems to be back to running pretty well now.

No change in the pattern of play though unfortunately.

Do seem to have a lack of composure and quality in the area. Went to the game today, first time watching them live, and we're very unlucky to be losing. Fluke of a goal for blues, and plenty of ball but no real clear cut chances for us.

small heath keeper goes down with no one around her, there's lengthy stoppage then surprise surprise she gets back up and is fine, referee only gives two minutes of injury time. It's annoying that this kind of time wasting has become commonplace in the premier league, of course time wasting has always existed to an extent, but now is ridiculous, players constantly pretending to be injured to run the clock down, and now is creeping into the women's game, and also Newcastle's U23s were doing it against us last week in a game that didn't matter.

As for the game I haven't much confidence of us scoring, the pattern of play is similar to so many games this season, we dominate but just can't put the ball in the net, best chance of scoring is probably an own or if they give a penalty away or something.

I'd bring on another midfielder, either Arthur or McLoughlin and push Petzelberger into the front three, at least when she was playing in the front three a couple of games ago she was scoring goals.

My daughter is loving it today and the ground is a magnificent sight.

We’re not doing too bad but look totally toothless when attacking. Blues are fortunate to be ahead.

Hopefully we can get something out if this still.

Fed up of watching Villa v Blues as we always show a complete lack of passion and attitude. Somebody needs to give these women a lesson about what playing Blues actually means if you are Villa and get them to play with more heart, passion and desire. Very poor once again !!!

Well you'll probably never need to see them play each other again.

As soon as we went a goal down I knew it was going to be extremely unlikely that we would get a win and an uphill task to even get a result, been the story of our whole season, just thirteen goals in twenty-two games, it's a shame because since Christmas they've been playing really well there has been a big improvement, but can't be as bad in the final third and in front of goal as we have been, there will be big changes in the summer, a few players that played today probably played their last game for the club.

First womens game I’ve ever been to and this was really evident…Lots of good build up play but terrible final balls and decision making. We were the better team but I thought they looked more likely to score a second than we were to equalise.

Not a great way to sign off the season at Villa Park in front of an expectant crowd. They may have gone down, but they will no doubt claim the bragging rights and expect an open top bus ride around the city to celebrate their victory, along with a civic reception to follow with assorted vol-au-vents. We have next season to look forward to they can only hope they will play us again one day....

Interesting to see that Mallory Edens and her mom were at the game - you'd assume that Wes would have come over with them.

If the Edens family are over, then we're making our plans for the summer.

Really enjoyed the day today (apart from the scoreline!). Was a joy to take my little lad to Villa Park for the first time! Only 13 months old but he seemed to enjoy himself and Didn’t grumble about being in the stands for 90 mins. 8300+ there too, they should do more games at VP, was great to see so many kids getting involved.

Only caught a couple of the Women’s games on TV this season… really evident that we are lacking someone to put the ball in the net.

Unfortunate goal to concede, bit of an Enckelman moment with Hampton dropping in a pretty tame cross, just as I’d been bigging her up to my wife as the England keeper for the next ten years 🙄
