They believed they got the better end of the deal because Jota wasn't the player he was at Brentford, and Gardener was a good championship player, and that they would sensibly invest the £4m they received on top of the swap. Just enjoy it for lords sake, as I said in a previous post he can only play what's put in front of him, and I would rather him be amazing in pre season than not, imagine the conversations if he was as ineffective against these pre season opponents as green. We will soon see in the coming weeks or months if he is prem quality, until then can't we just enjoy the fact he looks class against our pre season opponents where some of our other first team players have actually looked poor.
