I wonder which Tory donating major company she'll land as Director of Communications at?

Nah, she's going to be the new host of Homes under the Hammer or some other Tory Daytime Porn Flick

MFers interviewed Alan Dershowitz for his 'expert comment', even though he's been accused of participating in Epstein's crimes.

They've fessed up now and said interview didn't meet it's editorial standards, so that's alright then.

The mind boggles how they ever thought that was acceptable

The Maxwell's do indeed have many powerful friends in many places and even IF the mistakes are innocent the suspicion of a cover-up will always be there, that it continues after the trial, just leaves me without words because if it is an innocent mistake, it's gross incompetence.

But we already have the Royal Family, The Johnson family, The Met and the BBC either not acting appropriately or involved in throwing shade over the events. It's quite mind blowing when you look at the connections

And whilst I’m at it, they can get rid of the M1 motorway and any hospitals in Northern Ireland or East Anglia too, I never use any of them either.

I only ever drive on the left-hand side of the road, but for some reason I have to pay for the upkeep of BOTH sides. Damn unreasonable, is what it is.

As someone said here, if we want to pick and choose what we pay our fees and taxes for then there’s plenty more waste than not wanting to listen to bbc6 music because you’re a massive gammon.

they’ll happily vote for a party who have their mates multi millions in covid contracts and government NHS Contracts but they want to defund the bbc  because they don’t play the national anthem every thirty seconds.

bloody livid with this government no wonder terrorism exists

And tbh if the BBC went commercial then ITV and other commercial tv operations are screwed and I don’t think they’ve thought this through very well.

the BBC is the biggest tv brand in the world, and businesses will have a set budget.

with BBC1 and 2 having ads that’s a 40% increase in as space for two channels watched by a LOT of people.

companies will not increase their tv as budgets by 40%, the average price across tv slots will go down for all channels (everyone loses) OR companies pull spend from Sky and ITV and place with BBC.

Finally you’ll have BBC entering a market with all the shared learnings from targeted smart ads Sky have and just do it better, AAAAND they’ll pay above market salaries to pull the best talent in advertising and sales and just blow the competition wide open.

some May say “yeah but they won’t have done it before”

BBC world is the private business which sells their shows abroad and they already generate about 30% of ITV plc revenue and that’s the BBC barely trying.

Just seen the never once ever biased Laura K on the BBC. Even now, she's trying to water down things for Johnson with her language. In the studio and on every other BBC news I've heard, they have quite literally stated that Johnson made a false claim about Starmer but not Laura K, Oh no, she just says Johnson "linked" Starmer to the failure to prosecute Saville, the language was nowhere near as clear as every other BBC news person. She also said that Johnson later said it wasn't true, which again is far from the truth, he stopped well short of that. She can't go fast enough

Politics live, now on, with a panel of four responding to John Majors speech warning of the gradual erosion of of our Democratic standards under this Government. The BBC have decided that a Tory MP, the Political editor of the Daily Mail , a reporter from some Nottingham paper, and a member of the Green Party is a balanced panel. The Green Rep is the only one being in the slightest bit critical of the behaviour of this PM and his cabinet. This is simply not good enough. Incidentally, Majors speech was brilliant, and I’m no Tory.

Meh, BBC Radio 4 had a programme on yesterday about poetry that stated competitive poetry recital was a shocking new thing invented in Chicago in the 1980’s.

As I said to my mate at the Eisteddfod back in 1150AD, I think that might be bollocks.

I don’t know if the BBC is having a real crash in standards, or more likely, us having more instant access to fact checking just shows up they were only ever an opinion peddling device.

it's standards  declined once they got rid of the Queens English and thought it was cool to employ presenters that dropped the T in sentences
