A heavily edited version is what was played on Radio 1 (and other stations). And a censored version of Fairytale of New Yrok will still be played. Edit: not censored, a radio friendly version with different lyrics for those lines. Edited November 19, 2020 by MessiWillSignForVilla

Sorry, I thought you were suggesting that an explicit version of the Cardi B song was being played, so there shouldn't be a problem with the same for this. When you're actually saying the opposite. I would never have read between the lines of them wanting to form a new, better Britain, where we respectfully and inclusively insist on broadcasting homophobic slurs. Can anyone recommend any inclusive songs that stick it to the Muslims? Pick any of a number by Taake
stuart_75
I understand Radio 2 will continue to play the original version of Fairytale of New York.
Davkaus
I guess that distinction kind of makes sense, radio 1's demographic is teenagers.

I think they should try and find a simplistic means of describing the actual reality, but confess that I can't think of one off hand which allows for the underlying complexities. But they could start with "National Economics is NOT like domestic economics,. The government is able to create money when they want to, but there are of course consequences".
