Like you say this isn't a small slump and it is wrong for people to claim that we are in a tough spell. If Smith really thinks that this is a tough spell and that there is nothing to worry about then questions should be asked. I hope that his comments were just "media friendly" spin and that behind the scenes they are making genuine attempts at trying to address the longer term issues.
