I know some folks will automatically say Wenger as DOF no thanks - but it would be a masterstroke, mentor for Henry, knows how to run a club, plays good football.

He would be a great mentor/adviser, but judging from what we hear about Wenger as a manager - he seems to be a complete control freak, so I think he would struggle in a DOF role. He’d want to be on the touch line/training pitch doing it himself.

said it when xia took over too, birmingham is about to experience a massive growth in lots of different ways, lots of business and money coming in

Is it ?  -

and why would this be factor in owning a football club ? - would they still brought us if this massive growth in Birmingham wasn't happening ?  - this is a little like the assumption that Xia was going to rebuild Aston , ....based on nothing at all

He ran a club from Premier League contenders to mid-table

Think people get carried away with HS2 - it gets people to london 20 minutes quicker than we can currently. Thats it. If you think a whole load of major companies are going to relocate to Birmingham, because of that ?

They're not, they will and in fact they already are.

Birmingham has been the butt of many jokes over the past decades, but it has quietly gone about the business of renovation and regeneration. It is now a superb city with a burgeoning worldwide reputation. It is also the geographical hub of a soon to be independent nation.  We are also a transport hub with quick connection to the rest of the UK. The opportunities for business and leisure in the Birmingham area are sensibly priced and limitless.

Newcastle is on the edge of a cold and windy North Sea and is a pain to get to, but it does have a vibrant waterfront area and a nice main street.

Aston Villa FC is classy and historic .... Newcastle FC isn't!

Not a difficult decision was it Nassef?

big city plan

brum is 50-60% cheaper than london and will be closer by train than most of the suburbs, there is a massive wave of investment in the city already with more coming (its currently listed as the 6th most investable city in europe, ahead of london)

double the national average property price growth (the average is 3.7% brum is 7.8%) but the average house price in brum (£155k) is still way under the national average (£220k - london is £637k) population increase of 300k with 40% of the population under 25

Personally I think they came to our rescue - Newcastle are for sale but they weren't about to go the wall/
