We all love a good countdown, especially because it's for a VERY important match.

Let me start with this humdinger;

Any other good number 3's in our illustrious past?

I'll countdown everyday until Wembley.

finish on -2.

This chap is my favourite right back. He was actually a left back.

Joined the club in the summer 59 with Charlie Aitken. Within 18 months Charlie would the left back role he own for the next 15 years.

Despite this, he stayed with the club until the Doc sold him in the summer of 68.

In that time he made just 2 appearances, 1 at right back, 1 at left back.

I'll be impressed if anybody can remember his name!

Luke Young. Vastly underated, good footballer, good defender. Did exactly what he said on the tin. Wanted us to sign him when he left Spurs. Wanted us to sign him when we left Charlton. Cheers Doug.

Finally got out man, got a few good seasons out of him, but a pity he wasn't signed earlier.

It's Wilson Briggs. John Gidman would be my personal choice, with Keith Bradley also well in the running.:)

Best no. 3 = Charlie Aitken (no contest whatsoever for this one), followed by Steve Staunton.

No. 2 is more tricky, we've had some very good right backs. I'll go with John Gidman.

I remember that team  @mjmooney with Mick Wright also at the back. Charlie was a hero. was Jim Coombes our number 1 at the time or Colin Withers
