Not sure why they keep saying Haaland is a bargain signing, talking about it now on SSN. Yes he was 50m, but to get him for 50m he's had to be paid (which is rarely talked about) 2 million a month. Over 2 years that's another 50m

That’s still a bargain

last summer they were supposedly trying to buy kane for £160m

this summer they got haaland for £50m + another £50m in back handers + £500k a week

he's still a bargain, he'll win the lot there, if he / they play it right he'll be elevated to ronaldo and messi levels of marketing, him and mbappe for the next decade, balon dor the lot, for all their spending and their superstars city have never had anyone like him

Only a crazy person would have preferred Kane to Haaland. Regardless of what BBC suggest, he is a step below Haaland, Mbappe, Lewandowski, Benzema. Not the same league.

Yes, and Haaland isn’t the first player to have other hidden costs outside of the transfer fee. I’m sure had they signed Kane there would be payments to agents, advisors, family etc.

People said the same about Grealish and he has gone backwards and is more marketable personality than Haaland who is extremely robotic

Really? He comes across as quite relaxed and not all as as superstarily bland in the interviews I've read and seen?

He areally has a bit of bite sometimes as well as a bit of tounge in cheek. One of the more interesting characters IMo, while good ol' Jack is a bit of a bimbo really.

But yeah, maybe that actually is more marketable come to think of it.

Arkadiusz Milik thought he had scored a 95th-minute winner but it was offside.

Milik, who had already been booked, took his shirt off in celebration and was sent off.

While Juventus celebrated what they thought was the winning goal, it was announced it would be checked by the VAR official.

That sparked an on-pitch brawl, with Salernitana's Federico Fazio and Juventus' Juan Cuadrado both shown straight red cards, while Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri was also dismissed.

Milik was not offside but the third goal was ruled out as Bonucci, who tried to head the ball into the net but failed to make contact, was judged offside.

Footage later emerged which appeared to show Salernitana midfielder Antonio Candreva playing everyone onside as he was near the corner flag.

Arsenal women sign a player from Barcelona, then immediately loan her to Everton.

I'm not interested in womens football that much, but this sounds like trying to imitate the mens game.

And it's bollocks.

Nothing wrong with doing that. And the player must have known about it, it's not like they are told to pack their bags and go away.

If I ran football loans would be outlawed. Either buy the player or **** off.

Loans are the only reason small heath are not in the National league.

Edit:unless they are youth team players getting experience.

I'd caveat that with not if the parent club has purchased that player, if they came through your academy then yes

We should be able to loan chuk out but Chelsea shouldn't

Why not?

He belongs (sorry for a lack of a better word) to Chelsea. He is under contract with them just as he was under contract with Villa. In fact, it would be better for Chelsea, Chuk, a championship side he potentially goes to, English national team future, that he goes on loan.

I don't really understand the opposition to loaning players, especially young ones. Everyone wins in that transaction. Not a single party is short changed.

But Chukwuemeka didn't come through our academy, we got him from Northampton Town.

Todd Boehly wants to introduce an All Star game

Apparently they sacked Tuchel because 'they didn't share a vision for the future'.

Potter must be so excited for an all star game split into quarters and funny mascots sending t-shirts into crowds accompanied by organ music.

What is happening.

To prevent stockpiling

Chelsea, man City etc buying 5 players every summer that they have no intention of playing but will loan out for 3 or 4 years before selling them at a profit whilst at the same time preventing mid table clubs playing them and getting better or rivals from buying them and using them

That is the negative angle of the loan market, Chelsea shouldn't be able to have 30 players out on loan, they shouldnt be able to do what they've just done with Lukaku or did for years with drinkwater, Barkley, bakayoko etc etc that's where the system is broken
