I think he's one of the few people left in the game who actually wants to play regular football, at as high a level as possible, above all else. We now know he was offered an extension at Chelsea. He more than likely could have gone to the MLS or China for big bucks. And we know he was offered £100k a week to play for SHA We were probably the biggest club offering him regular football. I'm sure he still took some persuading, but if somebody has the mindset he appears to have, it's easy to see why we would be a good choice. But I think Bruce deserves the credit on this one.
