blunther
He was excellent today. Cocked up early on with a short pass and bust a gut to get back and rescue it. Lovely touch for the rest of the game.

Mark Albrighton Posted September 28, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted September 28, 2018 Rescuing him from the depths of page three.... He was good tonight I felt, a positive from another dreary game. He’s not always the right choice to start, but he always put a shift in, isn’t afraid of going in for a challenge and has a habit of popping up with a goal or two. A useful player to have. Perhaps unlucky not to be starting more games.

Good player in my opinion.

His best position is clearly that holding midfielder role, but I think we don’t always need that position filled. I don’t see him coming in for McGinn or Grealish certainly and probably not for Hourihane (btw another assist, nice one Connor). If we play with wingers, I’m not sure how he fits into the midfield there either. He’s a solid option to have anyway. Probably for me because he gets around a lot, bit more energy, he’s first choice for that holding role.

El Zen
Probably the best overall option at DM right now.
Dr_Pangloss
He was ok, definitely better than Hourihane, Whelan and Jedinak (when he's in midfield) on current form. Should be him, McGinn and Grealish as a midfield three.

But he offers something the other two don’t which makes him right for certain games.

Games in which we should be looking to have around 60% possession which in this league is a fair few, especially at home, the game vs reading last season was his best for us, we had around 70% in that game and he bossed it Whelan for breaking it up vs decent footballing teams Thor for games that we look to control Jedi vs hoof ball merchants Good options if used right

Jedinak and Whelan are both better DMs. But they don’t have the pace and hustle that BB has.
villa89
Was he even on the pitch tonight or was it just a hologram. Did nothing, offered nothing.

villaglint
Seems to run around a lot and always be a few yards away from actually making a tackle. Pretty clunky on the ball too. A nothing performance just when we needed a leader in the middle of the park. He wasn't the only one but he was utterly pants last night.
HeyAnty
His game is built around being a try harder type of player. He cant even do that now.
Stevo985 Posted October 3, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted October 3, 2018 He's a slightly more competent Brett Holman.

rodders0223
The type of player fans wank over when you are playing a dogshit team at home and he can stroll through it. Goes missing any other time but gets away with it for reasons I don't understand. Whelan is a better player.
