My cautiously optimistic feel is starting to flicker a bit more towards optimistic on the swingometer of optimism. I will bring myself back down a little though, back to the cautiously optimistic stage, as we have seen these kind of soundbites early on in other takeovers, notably our own US takeover 10 years ago with Proud history, bright future etc. Early signs are promising though, but now he needs to back up those words with positive actions and results. From at least October onwards, any deal was dead in the water, due to the uncertainty of where we would be playing next season. Lerner would probably still have been driving for a higher price at that point. It was obvious that no deal could have been completed until our fate was decided. You can't claim to want to be a top 3 club in the world if you're not going to significantly invest and make some significant improvements to the way we do business.
