Not in a month of sundays, Adebayor is untouchable & a ticking time-bomb, Spurs can't give him away.... Absolutely nothing about him fits our recruitment policy (wrong age, massively high wages, unstable personal life, inconsistent performer, minimal / zero resale value, comes with baggage etc). While Sherwood got him playing well for a period, its worth noting that Sherwood had to work with him, given he no transfer window, case of working with what he had at that moment in time, and clearly he has ability when he puts his mind to it. Long term he'd be a very different proposition and I'm pretty sure Sherwood would far rather invest his time / energy in somebody younger with hunger that can be moulded and developed rather than trying to massage Adebyor's ego and coerce him into performing to his ability week in week out. Also was in the under 21's for spain, he is no mug just has a bad rep becuase Sherwood has not played him. A lot depends on whether we can keep the Beast and Delph though, and to a lesser extent Vlaar. I still wouldn't be sure about lining up with Hutton first choice rb and Richards in the centre. To me it says that Benteke and/or Delph will be leaving and we're spending the money before other teams know we have it to spend, which is probably a wise thing to do.
