Cannot believe the latest? Lambert is blaming the Swiss for Senderos getting injured again in training with the international team. Sounded pissed! But then he allowed Senderos to go to the Swiss knowing he hasn't played for a month, then blames there training methods, He should have never have been allowed to go there, he obviously wasn't fit enough to play for us so why send him to play with the international  team??

It all helps with the ready made excuses for Lambert if we lose to Southampton.  :)

Unless Randy takes the training, sets the tactics and does the ahem motivational team talks, then it can only be Lambert's fault that he cannot get the best out of what he has got. We have better players than most of the bottom 10.

Yes Randy is at fault for not providing more funds for players or wages, but he is more at fault for poor managerial appointments and not taking decisive action for what is the worst Premier League manager we have ever had.

No he gives him the job, and let's him keep it after gaining 38 points in a season.

Lambert is like a spoilt child hes not capable of leading us Firstly he cant handle criticism if you argue or dont agree with his shit football you put in reserves.

Secondly his signings have been a total waste apart from tekkers and concrete. What a waste on helenius, tonev, okore, steer, bennett, bacuna. Take account lambert your shit.

Finally lamberts style of play makes big eck's rubbish look good far too negative and most importantly i think villa are no better than when he joined.

Harshly worded but true. People forget the bomb squad fiasco!

No its your opinion and it may or may not be true.

No the bomb squad was a reality!

The idiot is still doing it despite being told by Tom Fox to use all players at his disposal.

You're not allowed to just not let your players go on international duty.

Aye. Had an interesting case down here. The A-League doesn't break for international weekends. We had a player line up for Australia get caught in a car accident with minor injuries that forced him to miss his flight. Since he was cleared of injury but unable to join the Australian side, the club tried to play him on the weekend....

... and got threatened with a fine and the game being called a forfeit against them if he played.

You just can't beat Lambert up for Senderos getting injured. He had no hand to play.

Exactly. As NIV says, you have to let the player report to the FA and they assess them. That's what happened with Sturridge this season.

Lambert couldn't have just said "nah, he's not going".

As has been said a million times, there's PLENTY of stuff to have a go at Lambert for. You don't have to start inventing more.

Who would have thought when he was signed that we would be seeing an injury to Senderos as a big problem.

In all honesty, I don't think it is a big problem - however, if there's something else that we can level against Lambert then...

I have a real concern how Lambert seems to fail to get much out of so many players.

It hasn't gone unnoticed how Ryan Bertrand came in to us in good form.....went out in poor form.....and now with Southampton, coming back to face us in good form.

There is something seriously wrong.

Southampton try and win every game which helps.  Lambert is a negative manager out of his depth.

I think it's a vicious circle....he sets them up the way he does because he has no faith in them, he has no faith in them because he fails to get anything out of them.

He has to go

Yes, agreed TRO.

It's bad enough that we lose so many games under him but a lot of the times we're just boring to watch.

We're the lowest scorers in the premier league and entire football league combined for a reason and that reason is he is a dull manager who has not been able to get us playing attacking football on a consistent basis. He hasn't learnt from many previous mistakes - he repeats them.

The incompetence of Lerner is what keeps him at Villa Park.

Southampton have the best youth set up in England and thus make extremely high profits on selling their players allowing them to spend more in last Summers transfer window than Lambert has spent in 6 transfer windows. They can also offer the wages required to attract top quality players either on permanent deals or loans. So Bertrand is obviously gonna look better in a team surrounded by quality all over the pitch and on the flip side he is gonna look worse in a team that Lambert has had to put together on Championship standard wages.  I'm pretty sure you could of figured that out if you put some thought into it...

Our youth set up under Lambert does not seem to be improving - if anything it looks like it is getting worse.

That doesn't factor in all the players they sold. On a net basis their net spend was negative £31m whereas our was positive £6m. Yes, they purchased some decent players but they sold most of their best players too.

Bertrand is going to look better when a team plays to his strengths. Sadly our manager sets up the team about 90% of the time to stop the opposition playing rather than to get us playing in an exciting and successful way.

So what if their net spend was minus £31m, they spend roughly £70m last Summer and signed some absolutely top quality players. Can you not see the big difference  between their situation and ours?

As for the youth set-up, I'd put more blame on the likes of Faulkner and Lerner.  If we had a chairman who supported his manager then we would have a better quality team with better players thus allowing our youth players the chance to come into a team with less pressure on them.  In the current state our youth players are being thrown in at the deep end and have had too much responsibility put upon them.

Yes, Southampton have spent more than us, but they've also sold more than us. Overall, they've purchased better players than us but even more importantly the way they approach the game is right.

If young players are good enough ultimately they should come through into the team. If they can't handle the pressure of the premier league then they shouldn't be there in the first place!

Lambert has to take a big portion of the blame:

Consider this:

First team:

Played 11, failed to win 8 of those games, scored 5 goals (lowest in premier league and entire football league) and have a -11 goal difference.  league place: 16th out of 20 league teams.

U18:

Played 11, failed to win 7 of those games, worst defence in the league, -14 goal difference, league place: 8th out of 12 teams.

U21:

Played 8, failed to win 6 of those games, 2nd worse defence in the league, -7 goal difference, league place: 9th out of 12 teams.

Lambert and HIS coaching staff are under performing at all levels. Quite simply he has to go now.
