Guest av1
So. He doesn't want to move to a middle of the road club. Unless they pay him loads then it's OK Bye Bye Tom I'd tell him that we are no longer keen on a middle of the road player.
Pelle
Nah, if that's what he wants to come here then he can stay and rot in manure or go to everton to sit on their bench. We've had enough of overpaid half decent players.
ArteSuave
He hasn't said any of that. It's some random talking head on talkSport.
lexicon
Well what we've got is somebody saying that he doesn't want to move to a middle of the road club. This person has then said that it's down to the clubs to convince him to join by offering him a huge wodge. That's not the same as saying that he's only interested in money. The Fun Factory
Does anyone know anything about anything? I have read at least 3 different articles on Cleverley saying he is on 30,50 or 60 grand a week at United.
Harry
I'll be very interested to see where he ends up now. I don't have a problem with players holding out for the best deal (as we all would) but that does have to be tinged with a little realism too. He is 25 and can't hold down a place at Man U. Sadly for him that means you have to look at middle table clubs. Everton (a notch up from us these days) may be a possibility but I can't see them breaking their wage structure to sign him given the money they have spent this window and will spend in wages going forward. smetrov
Perhaps if he waits until may he gets the move he wants (Everton) and on better terms...? ....am I the only one who sees this ?

No. I don't think this one is dead, but it will happen late if at all.
sonic_bouma
Just got in from work. The news that this deal is almost off has perked up my shit day! Go and pass sideways at another club! Edited September 1, 2014 by sonic_bouma
Jay.P.A
Cleverley is nothing special, so missing out on him isn't really a big deal IMO. Especially if he wanted to be on par with Benteke and Delph in terms of wages - he's done nothing to warrant that sort of wage, IMO. Yes, he won the Premier League with United under SAF, but his performances since then have been poor. OK, the argument can be made that he's played out of position......if he can't adapt to play about 20 yards deeper then maybe this guy's capability is extremely limited. Doesn't want to play for Villa? Fine.
Qwpzxjor1
Apparently we have pulled out. Wage demands. Edit : I'm very slow. Didn't see all the other pages after the one i was looking at.. :-P Edited September 1, 2014 by Qwpzxjor1
Agbonla-score
I'm flattered we've been referred to us as a 'middle of the road club'. I've considered us to be relegation fodder the past 3 years. Middle of the road is definitely an improvement. Up the villa

APearson
Id be gutted if we didn't bring in at least one signing in considering we have offloaded a midfielder today.
