We are coming up to 3 weeks since this thread was started but given we are yet to come back for pre season it doesn't really matter that we are yet to appoint an assistant manger/first team coach. Hopefully by early July this will be resolved as one things for sure given the shit served up over the last couple of seasons Lambert needs all the help he can get. My concern with Lambert stems from the fact that we had a very good finish to the 2012/13 season, he was given a few pennies to spend, brought in a few players and we went backwards. Performance wise drastically backwards. We went from a side that looked very vulnerable defensively but looked lively going forward to one that was still vulnerable defensively and looked absolutely clueless going forward. The last 2 -3 months of last season we served up some of the worst football I have seen from a Villa side in my 30+ years following us. The lack of quality can in a big way be put down to a lack of money but the lack of heart, passion, desire and basic organization is down to poor management/coaching. It wasn't through a lack of quality that we lost against Stoke, Crystal Place, Fulham, Swansea it was that they wanted it more and that is totally unacceptable. If Keane or anyone else can at the very least improve on that it will be a step in the right direction.
