It would mean new owners were prepared to spend big and I think Mancini could attract top quality players Yep, then alienate them, bench them and send them out on loan on the clubs payroll. Yes Lerner's made mistakes but he's hardly a Tan or Yeung. Obviously the fans (myself included) have big issues with him but if he started spending again and got someone who knows football in to advise him I wouldn't be against him staying. Let's not forget that we all loved Lerner when he first came in and was spending lots of money. His only real problem has been poor decisions (giving O'Neill a free-reign, appointing McLeish, cutting too fast perhaps). Reuters ran a story half an hour ago saying Lerner will release a statement after the game at the weekend.
